2017 BMW 330i M Sport Top Speed

How can one find out the top speed of the 2017 BMW 330i M Sport?

Driving it all out is not an option currently. S840A is also not present when decoding the VIN.

However, the car is rated for 250 kph (155 mph) on paper.

With the gas pedal.

Many cars are electronically limited to 155 mph.

Asking for a method without the gas pedal.

Some cars are also electronically limited to 130 mph.

I think the only way to reach top speed is with gas pedal?

The top speed is definitely coded in somewhere. Just need a way to read it, I guess.

I think it was released with the spec info of the new engines... I think that guy up there was right when he said 155.

Well you are governored to 155mph if the optioned is ticked and 130 mph if standard in the USA.. so 155 is the best you can hope for.

Zero to 130 mph: 27.1 sec

Short answer is the B48 is likely able to achieve 155mph+ but it'll take a while to get there if at all

Yes. 155 mph or 250 kph is the rated top speed of the car. Just needed a way to verify it without the gas pedal.

Yes. This car could either be at 130 mph or 155 mph. Needed to know which.

Msport option 840 Increased top speed limiter = 155
You have Msport so it should be 155 but check your specs to ensure you have option 840 and rather not ZRT (Remove Increased Top Speed = 130)

Already stated it in the first post. No S840A option when VIN was decoded. However, tires are staggered. Tire speed rating is Y.

This is not a US car. We do not have options like ZRT.

So needed a way to verify the top speed.

Even though I had 840.. I went to a safe remote straightaway to test it @135+ just to get that block off my mind.. I suspect you will end up doing something of that nature anyway but be safe

Figured I'd ask around before getting any crazy ideas like using the right foot.

Safest option was asking the question here.

There's always the option of testing it on a Dyno...

Or why not just call your dealership?

If you dont want to trust official specs from bmw which is 155 and have questions because of a lack of an option code when you looked up your vin.

Just go up the branch and find out through your dealership?

Yes. That is an option. Not currently though.

Was looking for a way without the gas pedal.
