Adaptive headlights
I've a 2016 435d F36 with adaptive headlights. I have to confess that I've not studied the manual and really that's where I should be looking for this information but my understanding was that I should be able to leave the lights on full beam and press the adaptive button on the left stalk to automatically drop /mask the full beam as appropriate? When I do this, I get an 'A' symbol on the dash, it does drop full beam in built up areas with street lights and I do see some masking for traffic but it's clearly not enough because most cars will flash me. Because of this I obviously don't use the system.
Am I expecting too much from this system? Or do they need some kindnd of sensitivity adjustment? Many thanks for any help. |

I believe the sensitivity of the system can be adjusted by your dealer or by coding the car privately.. if you think it should be dimming sooner, then get them to set the sensitivity higher.. and vice versa.

Yep the A symbol should be on and then it should auto-engage above a certain speed treshold.. In Belgium there are too many street lights and super reflective signs so it's 90% flashing on and off but once I do get on to dark country roads it works super well! Really cool to see it filtering out oncoming traffic
