Dog - BMW Rear Seat Cover (OEM) Works.

Hello all. I CAN CONFIRM that this rear seat cover works on the F30. It is the one listed for the E90. Pretty good fit. I managed to be the guinea pig for the greater good of the F30 owners who ride with dogs. Least I could do for the wealth of info I got from this community.

About $340 from BMW.

I bought it off ebay for $255 though. Free shipping. And they overnighted it to me. Very nice.

Amazon has these as well, via BMW of Minnetonka, for $288.

Tremolo: Any chance you could snap a picture of the cover installed in your F30? I'd really like to see the fit before I pull the trigger, cause even at $288, these are really expensive. Thanks!

Good to know, our beagle tends to slobber all over everything in the back seat.

Does it fold up or what? Fits in the trunk?

It comes with a carry bag that will go in the trunk. The cover is really light and folds up easily. It's super easy to remove and install the hammock. Probably around 1 minute. The door covers are another story... some times it takes a few minutes per door. The trick is getting that elastic band around the door panel.

I have one for my e92 and I leave it in all the time, even when the dog isn't there. Allows me to just throw stuff back there without worry. Plus, I don't know about the sedan version, but you can zip off part of the e92 version to expose one of the seats. Nice if you have someone back there and don't want to remove the whole thing. This thing is the best accessory I've ever bought for a car.

I just ordered a 2013 F30 335i sedan and feel the same way about the OEM seat protector I bought for my E46 sedan, that's now used in an E46 M3 Coupe to good effect.

I see there are no pics of the E90 one in the F30, but I'll trust it will fit the F30. The quality looks good. My old one is just one piece leatherette with velcro'd slits.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I had to be quick about it. Obviously, my dog has been making good use of this cover. Please don't judge the quality of the cover by my dog's shedding.

As you can see, the cover looks close to what it looks like in the E90. It's a universal OEM cover. So it's not like it was made only for the E90 anyways.

The rear head rest tab is kinda too big, so you can see how it "kinks". But once you put the headrest down, it covers it. Also, the straps on the side panel is the most PITA. To get that elastic strap to go behind the door panel is hardest part. But once it's on, it's great. It's what separates this cover from the rest of the aftermarket ones.

BTW- I have a golden retriever and he is blowing his coat right now, so the fur is almost a nightmare.

Ask questions if you have any!

For the following photos, you can see where the side panel meets the seat cover when the door is closed. Again, this is what separates the OEM vs aftermarket. It's pretty seemless. You can also see where the zipper line is for the 40/60 seats. You can separate the seat cover into 40/60 in case you have a human passenger, or you have to put a seat down etc.

Thanks for the pics.. especially the one showing the side meeting the seat. I was curious how well the cover covered the rear seats/door/sidepanel ...

Thinking I should get one for my dog too... no where near as big as your Golden Retriever but I'd rather make sure he cant' damage the car hahaha

Thanks for the pics. Just one question, does your dog ever try and go to the front seat (ie climb over the cover)? I also have a golden and for some reason he always moves from the back seat to the front seat, even when I leave the car for a minute. Thanks!

Even if he wanted to, my dog can't get to the front seat because he's always buckled in. I don't want to preach to you, but one of the best things you can do for your dog in the car, is to get him/her a seatbelt. Before I got the seatbelt, there were several occasions where my dog would get thrown to the front when I had to brake really hard. This is not only a hazard for your dog, but to you as a driver. In the sceme of things, it seems silly to protect the car seats but not the dog itself. Preaching over.

I use the Solvit one. However, I replaced the buckle with a universal seatbelt buckle... it's much easier to put on and can go from car to car with ease.
