I had that color on my '09 550i. I really did like it.

Actually, the title had been changed before I bought it to read black as originally it had been listed as blue

I had LeMans blue on my 135i. After 4 years, I still didn't love it - just too blue. The Carbon Black was something different but not too flashy. It looks great.

My Midnight Blue is similar, the color very much depends on the angle of the sunlight. They do that by tinting the metal flakes in the paint.

Carbon black, together with Tanzanite are the best BMW blue colors IMO.

Third is Imperial Blue

When I was selling my Carbon Black M3 and the car switched from black in my garage to blue in the bright sunlight, I actually saw the potential buyer's eyes glaze over. I knew he was going to buy it that very moment. He did.

My all time favorite BMW color, but man it made me work hard to keep it "otherworldly".

Yes. Mine had been poorly buffed before me. Every time I would fix a section and remove the swirls visible in sunlight I would find another section that needed attention. I think I got it just right after about 4 years - right before I sold it.

The first person who came to look at mine bought it.

We have Tanzanite Blue and absolutely love it. When it is cleaned and polished it looks amazing. I get comments on it all the time. The reflective properties are amazing due to the high level of metal flakes. Also the colour is sooo sooo deep it look amazing.

In the sun it is a deep blue you get lost in, and in the shade it can look a type of black. We live where we get 330 days of sun a year so it looks amazing IMO.

Yep, this is going to be a labour of love, I can tell. Used some Sonax Xtreme Brilliant Shine Detailer today after washing, which looks great .... for about 15 minutes

I love Tanzanite but I didn't want to wait the extra time for the Individual colour. As it was, my car was over 4 months

Wow, that's a cool color. Ah, the maintenance on a paint like that though ...I can't imagine.

Too bad they only offer on the Carbon Black in the 4 series or M, I would get this color on my 3.

Mine gets delivered next week and it goes in for paint correction and Opti Coat gloss on the Monday after. Dealer has strict instructions to do nothing but peel the films off.

Looking forward to the shine!
