The Exhaust Came Today....

Well it has arrived as scheduled $900 shipped from that ebay auction I posted alink to last week.

I can see why some of your overall impressions about the quality and the welds. It looks like the OEM system so not much to look at besides the tips.

On a side note it came with some directions, and I will add this, I seriously cant believe that dealers are charging $200-$300 to install this thing. I have owned some pretty insane cars in the past and done my own mods, from superchargers to full k member and long tube header swaps all done by me, this will be a walk in the park. Seriously this is a $50-$60 jobbie at a local exhaust shop. The hardest part for me will be putting the car up on my ramps and on jack stands. I dont think that the total labor will take more then a 1/2 hour. Stand by for my DIY....

Also for referance I rented the exhaust cutting tool from Autozone for a refundable $50 upon return.

Nice! I've got one coming soon and I'm also planning to self install, so it will be great to see your DIY.

a sunoco gas station across the street from my restaurant did it for 40 bucks and a pizza! The sound gets better but you dont hear the exhausts true potential unless you leave the exhaust flap open. I love the way it sounds at low speeds. Im happy. I was disappointed at first now its much better.

I am thinking of getting the M Performance exhaust...

Was curious how different the M Tips look from the stock ones? For some reason to me, the M Tips look smaller than the stock tips? Or am I wrong?

Also, videos I watch on youtube, some videos the exhaust sounds really good, and other videos it sounds non-existent. Can someone shed light or describe how it sounds compared to stock? Is it louder and deeper? Or is there barely a difference?

I am wondering because I am torn to go with the M exhaust or if I should wait and go with a different aftermarket exhaust. I want something louder, but nothing too annoying or overly loud. At the same time, I do not want to put the M exhaust on if it is barely noticeable or other systems sound cleaner / better / better performance...

Yeah, it should be pretty straightforward. I've done a Remus axleback exhaust before, so I have a rough idea what I'm in for.

I did the swap. As for the sound everyone videos it before its broken in so it sounds so faint. You have to break it in and it will get louder. As for now I started it up, the idle is deeper and the revs are smoother. The over run burble is very loud now.

The tips to me look the same except the stock ones are rolled and look beefy.

The pics attached are for your referance. They are both 80mm.

Im not sure its like that even on the oem. The M tips are bigger and welded on, and you can see the smaller diameter pipe inside. Kinda cheesy.

NO problem. I cant really elaborate until its borken in. It is not that big of a difference right now. If you really want something louder and not too crazy that challange exhaust sounds really damn nice. Not sure how or if it will drone. I did this because I didnt wanna be annoyed and want no part of warranty problems.
