Anyone tried the Mosslemann solution? They don’t quote any figures on their website?

Managed to pickup a bluespark pro + boost on an auction site and got it reprogrammed, anyone running this on a 325d? wondering what best settings are.

Have a look on Babybmw - few people running these on their 125d's (assuming this is the same engine as yours).

Seems the 25d suffers the same fuel cut issues as described in this thread on the 35d motor (wonder if something to do with the twin turbo setup) so you may want to try a conservative setting like C6 or D7 to begin with.

I have just fitted my Bluespark CR1 Tech box onto my F31 330d so there cheapsest one via there eBay shop, £89.

Fitted the box on MAP1 on POSITION 5. Car feels better, they state that MAP1 is low/midrange power, with economy.

If I change it to MAP2 then that states maximum power higher revs, but will I have no lower down grunt and then just all the power in the upper rev range?

Any advice?

Thanks
Luke

It has two settings MAP 1 and MAP 2

Then fine tune it from 1-5

I have it on maximum power at higher revs, with this setting, I am guessing there will be no extra power low/midrange revs now? It feels quick in all of the rev range on my 330d, more of a quick after 3000rpm.

Some graphs I have seen, on the BS Pro etc with it turned to maximum, that power has increased in all of the rev range,
Not just the upper.

No idea then mate.

Ultimately you should just get a remap and get it done properly, it will save you money in the long term.

For £80-90 you can’t complain, the car feels better. I think I will have to have a play around with the settings and see.

I was looking for an answer, instead of me changing the settings and then testing it out.

Thanks

I think teaston has the CR tech box, albeit on the 35d. His settings might be a good start. On the Pro box I think we all ended up on E7 in the end (whether 30d or 35d) so there likely will be some comparability. End of the day though there will be some personal preference involved. Personally I like low down shove, whereas other prefer to ring it out!

What I mean is once you start with engine tuning boxes etc you slowly progress to other options.

I went with a BS box then DTUK box then a remap.

A £90 tuning box is not very reassuring on a £15k engine.

The CR boxes are about as basic as you can get.

I will take a look/ask the member.

Yea mines the basic CR Tech, I had the setting upped alittle over the default, now I have it on the maximum setting.

I like the lower/midrange grunt, like overtaking. There isn’t as much info on these boxe, compares to there upper end models.

I don’t want to add power “only” the upper rev range and add nothing lower down, as daily driving isn’t full throttle to the redline.

Thanks for your input!

On the CR tech the first 3 settings are for low end to mid range torque, setting 4 & 5 are for top end power.

I have mine on 3 (when it's fitted) as who can use top end power on public roads.

That’s great.

So I have mine on MAP2 and position 5. So if I have MAP2 and location 3, that should give me the maximum power in the midrange?

Is that how yours is currently setup?

Mines a CR Tech 1, via the eBay shop.

Mines different, as the Pro+ etc has C,D and E and then a fine tune setting.

Looking for the best setting, I guess it’s trail and error and personal preference.

Oh I see, they told me the CR tech 1 wasn’t suitable for the 335d.

So what colour dot does yours have on the box?

Mine has the red dot on the box.

My confusion here is, they list Map 1 and Map 2 twice as you can see.

So unsure, does moving the jumper from 1 to 2 make a difference? Or does the fine tuning jumpers make the difference.

I don’t want to mess with it to much, and then cause a problem.
