I seem to be one of the people cursed with very slow customs and VPC clearance. Here's my timeline so far ... hopefully the car will be available for pick up by the end of this week.

Ordered: 4/25
Order Confirmed: 5/6
Production Completed: 6/12
European Delivery: 7/19 (was there for work, so only had it for a few hours sadly)
Transit to Port: 7/19
Departed Bremerhaven: 7/31
Arrived New Jersey: 8/13
Received at VPC: 8/20

Called today and car entered production yesterday should be done by September 9th or 10th...I was told production wouldn't even start by those days so I am very excited it's happening now. This time next month I should be driving my brand new BMW

Called today and my production is scheduled to be completed on the 6th. The only problem with this is that if was supposed to be completed August 26. Looks like they are falling behind. Noooooo. This is for a '15 335xi

2015 328i xDrive Touring M-Sport (Canada)

07/18 - Ordered
07/23 - Production # Received

November 2014 - Scheduled Production (was September)
December 2014 - Expected Delivery (was October)

It's looking like it's going to be a 5 month wait!

Anyone have any ideas on what's going on here?

As it gets closer and closer to Christmas, Wharves and ships get busier and busier.

I ordered my car last Saturday and my CA still does not have a confirmation # for me. Is this normal? Seems like most folks get that in just a couple days.

I'm also having a hell of a time getting the dealership to call me back or email me. They said that they have confirmation that the order was placed, but I'm not sure I trust them to follow through at this point.

Don't want to be a complete freak / stalker since i'll need 'em later in the process. What kind of expectations should I have of responsiveness post sale?

Depends if they had an allocation number. Sometimes they have to wait for one.

Just got an update today that my car is on it's way to the port. I just hope it doesn't sit for 2 weeks before being shipped out.

You still have the SA build, right? I had to change my config (my CA missed heated seats) so I got a new allocation in Germany. Now it's complete and awaiting at port too.

Still waiting at the VPC. It's been there for 19 days now (on top of a week to clear customs at the port). Is anyone else having delays at New Jersey VPC?

Day 10 since I ordered and still no confirmation # from West County BMW in St. Louis. I just get the runaround when I call and then no one calls back.

Am I within a reasonable time frame for them to still be waiting on a number from BMW?

After threatening to pull my deposit I got my production #. Not sure if it was just timing or if that helped motivate. Whatever. Now I can obsess in private.
