i have a jb4 getting catless DP today jb4 question

Hey guys I'm currently running map 1 on my jb4 stage 2 I'm stock only thing done is a muffler delete. Waiting for usps to drop off the package today with the shiftech Catless dp, my question is with having a carless DP which map would be best to run map2? or map7? i seen couple of threads where people with similar mods running map 7 and map2 which is safer or better?

Map 2 so long as you're catless and running >93 octane.

Map 7 is purely for race gas and/or an appropriate E85 mixture.

yes i only use 93 octane gas so map 2 would be best?

also will i feel a big gain from map1 to map2?

Depends on your butt dyno. Tbh I have map2, catless, and intake and only difference I noticed was being able to hit 155 versus 150 on a particular part of an autobahn.

And OP I'm running map 5 with 94 octane, DP, resonator delete and modded muffler. Butt dyno says that's better than map 2. Also map 5 hits higher boost than map 2.

Was common with the 335is running 93 or better back before specific 335is Map 6's were developed. 335is has a different ECU with a different hard coded timing curve than the stock engines. Much more boost tolerant.

Would not recommend Map 2 on a stock engine without DP. 1 & 5 are the best choices.

They shouldn't unless they have a FMIC, race gas or E85.

It might feel faster the first pull or 2 but then heat soak settles in and ignition timing starts getting pulled back.

I do not recommend running map 2 without the needed mod.

Op - run map2 for a week then run map 5 for another week and decide which one you like better.
