M Performance exhaust install pics and video (lots of pics)

First of all a big shout out to Stu@BMRAutowerkes for the sale and great support, as well as Justin, Al and Jay from Midas Tingalpa for the quality installation.

The stock system has a thoughtfully placed dimple (circled in the first pic) for where to cut. Jay at Midas then trimmed and cleaned the cut before fitting the new auspuff.

The clamp provided is a good piece of gear, securely locking the two sections together. If ever you wanted, it's constructed in a way that you could reinstall the stock exhaust very easily.

Finally, some pics of the fitted gear. The beveled edges on the tips are very attractive!

The burble between gear shifts is horribly addictive, and best of all when you're cruising in 8th on the highway the exhaust is barely noticeable.

This really is the perfect exhaust for what I was looking for - great sporty quality when you're on the loud peddle and blends into the background if you're driving more sedately. I'm looking forward to the note settling down when it beds in over time.

Nice. Tips look great. I really want to get one! Can you post a picture of the rear end of the car, so we can see the exhaust and rear end? Wanting to see how it looks. Thanks!

Nice work! Thanks for posting the vid. Could you take us for a drive? i.e. film video & give us an idea of what it sounds like from the inside while driving?

I don't think I have the right equipment to capture audio that would be good enough.

Daibatu,

That's awesome. Thanks a lot! Can you get another one of the entire rear of the car, so we get a whole picture of the chrome/M Performance tips look on the 328i Sport? I am almost buying one...

It comes with a new valve just like the stock exhaust or it needs to be transfered over?

Spoke to Autoclassic in Perth regarding getting them to install the muffler. They said they would not be carrying the M sport muffler themselves as it doesn't comply with ADR or something at the moment. Furthermore they would not be able to install it for me if I purchased it elsewhere and brought it to them. Just wondering if this could in any way affect the new car warranty or lead to them refusing to honor the warranty if I purchased it from BMR and got someone else to install it?

I might try and get around to it on the weekend for you if I remember.

Has its own. It's simply a case of cutting the old one off at the mark provided, remove, hang new one, plug in and clamp.

Thanks for the write-up, Dabaitu. I'm considering this as well, but I need to be able to hear some in-cabin clips before I could commit to it.

Does anyone know of any in-cabin sound clips?
