I really liked the Audi when I test drove it but the killer was it's terrible version of iDrive. Everything from adjusting the heated seats to changing the radio station was a multi-step process. It was an annoying process to say the least.

Audi S and RS models are always over priced. 335 for me.

i looked at both these cars for quite a bit recently. extensive test drives, priced them out, etc. Once you spec the cars the same, they are the same price essentially. i so very much wanted to like the BMW more, but the Audi is better; for me, in almost ant single attribute/category. it feels special, the interior feels higher quality and that 3.0 supercharged engine pulls noticably harder than the 335, transmission (DSG or 6MT). i like both cars' exterior styling. but, this car is a huge win for Audi. i will say the audi lacks good induction noise. i am used the s54 howl. also, you cannot get the tail out on the Audi, even with the sport diff, at least i can't. and you get proper tires on the Audi. i could go on and on. huge win. and again, i wanted to like the BMW, but the Audi is appreciably better. YMMV.

i'll take an audi s4 avant with LSD, DCT and the optional 19's with 255s all around square set up and,.... REAL summer performance tires....

There is a big price difference and that is because these 2 cars are not in the same class; Let's repeat this when the M335i comes out, ok?

I will say that bimmer will always have the weight distribution advantage, i just am impressed with how audi makes up for it with their quattro + LSD

The LED can remain lit while your turn signals are on, its just a matter of coding. Its a very simple modification.

The BMW F30 335i definitely looks WAY better than Audi. But it's the engine which is good but needs a tune from BMW. 306hp for a 3.0-liter turbo-charged engine is not sufficient. The 328i delivers 245hp from its only 2.0-liter turbo-charged engine, so the 55hp from 1,000 cm3 bigger displacement isn't permitted. At least the engine of the 335i should deliver the same amount delivered by the 740i (326hp). The iS version of M335i should be around 340hp, similar to the Z4 sDrive35iS or 1M Coupe.

I will make the argument that anything less than 350hp out of the m335i will not be enough (i know it sounds crazy to say that.. it's not the power, its the delivery right?). but i say this because a 450+ hp on the M3 leaves a huge gap if the M335i is not 350. Plus, 320-330 is no different than what's already out with the 335is, the 1M, Z4 is, not to mention the competition. They gotta beat the competition, it's BMW.

I like the aggressive front on the BMW, but that horrible hood line is really grabbing my eye. Should have kept it like the E9x and made the hood flow all the way to the grills.
BMW's interiors are finally starting to catch up!
I like the S4 better as well. I would take it over this 335i pictured any day.

But the 328i kills the equivalent A4.

Do not understand this discussion at all. Anyone that has driven both audis and Bimmers knows that you will never buy an Audi after you have owned a BMW. It's handling is way worse, it looks as any other Audi (very boring) and do not understand why it is so expensive. It remains a VW with some more bling.

The European passenger impact injury abatement requirements are the main reasons for front end changes to vehicles sold in the EU (and often here with minimimal changes)...it has to be softer and have more crush area to minimize injuries to pedestrians, so it can't be as low and swoopy as that would put the outer layer too close to the non-compressible stuff beneath it. It will likely take awhile, another model update or two to refine this as designers come up with alternate ways to meet this new(ish) spec.

Still think all Audi's are boring looking on the exterior. Too plain looking from all angles. As for the interior, I'm not going to say it's a bad looking interior but why do people talk like it blows away BMW's and Mercedes' interiors? Personally, I think Audi's fall in with Mercedes - there are WAY too many buttons. Do people like that? The shifter area, it looks like you have a whole control panel to launch a missile.

When you compare the F30 interior to the Audi (and Mercedes), I see and understand why BMW did what they did. Having the iDrive display as it is definitely makes the interior look bigger/have more room. Everything else looks more driver orientated (definitely an improvement over the E9x). Perhaps I choose the BMW interior because I've always loved the simplistic look.

An M Sport version looks more aggressive, also the future M335i will be the real competitor for S4

If you equipped the 535i with the same options as the S4, the difference in price is around $5000 here in the US. keep in mind the 535i does not have AWD, AWD will be another $2500.

The Audi looks really emotionless next to the F30.

Ummmm are we forgetting that the parasitic losses after tunes/modifying will be much more on the S4 than the 335i. That for me is already enough to deter my decision

Put a JB4 on that biznitch and we'll see who has better straight line accel. LoL.

thankfully bmw lease deals are very good, compared to audi. you can lease a 335 for the price of base a4...no brainer here
???

This is perhaps a bit off topic, so don't take it the wrong way, but.....

The no brainer is determining what options the 335i had. The options for both are printed in the original post.

where ar those deals, 335 leasing and financing are a little more than the s4, plus the s4 depreciates more
