Brake discs

Just noticed I seem to have orange gunk all over one of my rear brake discs, the other three are perfectly fine. Any idea what it could be?

I've not used mine for 3-4 weeks and there is not a spot of rust on the discs. I've left it on the street to be assailed by the elements and it's bearing up very well. Even looks clean even though it has never been washed. Tough beauty.

You have pics? It has been raining up north here, could that be the cause of the "rust"?

It has rained here too. If I left my GTI for more than 2-3 days in the rain, the discs would have light rust. Part of the course. So, my F30 is a bit unusual.

Certainly my E46 and other cars I have noticed when in the car park at work, after it has rained, I could almost guarantee in the evening when going home i would see rust spots on the discs. But these would dissapear after light driving.

No pics, I should have taken one, covered in snow now! Rear right disc is like someone has poured Fanta over it! It's not spots it's like liquid. Other three are fine.

VERY well targeted dog pee to just coat the disc and not the wheel and calliper. What do they teach them at dog training nowadays?

Ah OK, well mine has M Sport brakes pack with ally bells, so zero rust.

But yes, I also roll mine forward too with brakes on to clear the rust after washing. Sticks the pads to the disc otherwise.

I took the wheels off, wire brushed the rust off on the disc hub and the hub itself then coated it with dinitrol rust converter, primer then gloss black.
leaving the rust in there speeds up the corrosion of the alloy wheel, copperslip on the surfaces and bolt threads before the wheels went back on
