I said the 330 is faster. The 320 was tested at 6.7 in mags, he 330 should be about 5.6 in testing. I showed you STOCK power at the wheels and TUNED. The 320 put down 209ft lbs stock, that would equal about 240-250 crank. My 328 put down over 240ft lbs to the wheels stock. The point was the 180/200 crank rating for the 320 is comical and the NA BMWs do not benefit from the same underrating that the turbo engines have.

Response from dealer when I asked him.
If you order a 2016 328i with manual transmission you will get an N20 engine. If you order a 2016 328i with automatic transmission you will get an N26 engine. |

I thought I read a couple years ago that the 328i had forged pistons and connecting rods while the 320i did not?

Been reading a mixed bag of answers about the compression ratio on the 320i. Some sources say 11:1, some say 10:1, some say it could be either -- depending on when and where it was built. Anyone have diffinitive evidence or a better explanation? What are some of the other key differences? I figured I would ask since the platform has been out for a while now. Hopefully there are more definitive answers. Thanks!

BMW X3, F25, 2.0i, 2.0i, WX31 Compression ratio
Quote:
thanks for sharing your information. I have a BMW, X3, F25, 2.0i, xDrive, 2012 (Type Code: WX31). I want to tune it up to X3, N20, 2.8i, Stage 1 tune. So the engine compression ratio becomes important in this matter. I have read in several forums that X3, F25, 2.0i has low compression engine (10:1) as well as 2.8i, but I have not got an official document from BMW Group which confirm this subject. Can you help me with this? Is it possible to show me an official document which proves this fact? Thanks in advance Best regard Mahdi |
