Installed the 20' 405M Tyres
Just installed the 405M rims on 20' Pirelli P-Zero's. Certainly makes the car appear more sportier than before.
Upgraded from 18' 415 Turbine Style to 20' 405M Here's a pic Last edited by knightsabers; 09-12-2013 at 03:38 AM.. |

Thanks, the difference is like night and day. The upgrade gives it a completely different impression. The ride feels exactly the same but gives a lowered and sportier stance.

The new wheels look superb!
Have you noticed any difference in ride:- comfort and/or handling?

Looks good.
I have the same wheels and I'm pretty happy with them. The ride is pretty much the same as the e92 was on 19"s. I'll probably ditch the run flats at some point though. |

The wheel was $4300, $520 per tyre & shipping from Germany was $703. Totals up at $7083 before installation and alignment.

Its been asked here before but what do you think of the ride quality on 20s vs the stock 18s? The car would obviously sit a little higher than before but do you think the wheel arch gap increased or decreased after the change? |

If you look at the tyre specs for OEM 18 vs 20s the overall diameter is the same (or within a couple of mm) so it's not sitting any higher. This car wss designed to take a 20" wheel straight from the factory.

The ride quality is similar with minimal differences except when going over potholes feels slightly more harsh for rear passengers compared to the stock wheels. Road noise is reduced with the Pirelli's. The gap is decreased after the change as the wheel is closer towards the arches.
