BTW, have the cited functions in both ICM & HU_NBT

Appreciate your thoughts -- if it does, will definitely code this in.

Thank you very much
The main benefit for you will be the ability to have comfort throttle with sport steering if you'd like.

Hi,

Coded both ICM (with ICMKOD_B_SPORTINDIVIDUALISIER) and HU_NBT (with MACRO_FDS) and I now have extra menu item that allows setting Sport mode as: Drive Train & Chassis; Drive Train; Chassis.

Thanks

BeppeM3+123d,

Really appreciate SmithF32 for laying this out. Yup, it works quite well and allows me to "mix & match" comfort & sport settings with:
  • Chassis setting which gives me tighter Sport Steering & Comfort accelerator
  • DriveTrain setting which gives me responsive Sport accelerator & Comfort steering

By the way, I have manual transmission, so Sport mode settings are not affected by this Configure Sport Mode menu

mmm a friend of mine have an f31 with hu entry no sport trans, no sport susp, no sport variable steering but was activated from factory!!! so probably is strange, because almost the steering must keep the sport setup separated from engine....

2015's have it as standard now I believe.

Yeah 2015s have it standard. And its still relevant even in a base car because the modes still can control:
-Transmission mode (sport or regular)....Which even the base (non sport auto) trans has
-Throttle response
-Steering effort (even the non sport variable steering has the ability to change the asssist level). FYI- the "variable" the variable sport steering actually refers to the way the rack is designed. They cut the teeth such that the ratio changes the more you lock you apply. Basically it means that you dont need to turn the wheel as much to get the same amount of wheel angle as you would on a standard car. Nothing to do with the amount of steering asssist however.

Glad you were able to find the FDL code that the FA coding was doing.

I'm shocked I didn't see that in there and try it, I've been thru all of the modules several times lol.
would be nice if you could update the 1st post to show what's required if you are doing FDL route

PikCachU,

Please check my post above as I did not do any VO coding, just FDL.

This feature is great!

Thanks so much for this! Just got it working by

Icmkod_b_sportsindividualisierbar to ein (werte 01).

And MACRO_FDS in HU_NBT to "popup_and_configure"

Tried this on my car (2012/CIC) this past weekend, just modified the MACRO_FDS parameter and it does now show the additional chassis/drivetrain settings in SPORT and ECO mode but NOT in COMFORT mode. Is there something else I need to modify to get this working for COMFORT mode?

There are no other options for Comfort mode.

So what I was after was COMFORT mode with the SPORT steering feel. Does this mean I can go into the SPORT setting, modify the drivetrain and chassis options to essentially achieve this?

Correct. You customize Sport mode to be Chassis only.

Obviously if you have EDC then you will have sport suspension in comfort mode, but if you don't then its perfect, sport steering with everything else comfort.

CarlosC,
Take a look at my April 14 post above. In essence, that is what I have with this coding

Thx for all the info.
Today I tried this on my F31, with build date 08-2013.

First I coded "Makro_FDS" to "popup and configure" and I was able to select/change the settings, however this didn't change the feel of the car.

Then I coded "Icmkod_b_sportsindividualisierbar" to "ein" and then I could feel the differences when changing the settings.

Robert4U,

Am glad you figured this out. As discussed earlier, it works quite well and allows me to "mix & match" comfort & sport settings with:

By the way, I have manual transmission, so Sport mode settings are not affected by this Configure Sport Mode menu
There's a bunch of great stuff on cheat sheets that are posted elsewhere -- makes this a lot of fun!

All the Best

You know what's strange about this? The in-car electronic owner's manual describes how to do this, but the actual "Settings/Driving Mode" choice is missing.

Sounds like somebody on BMW's software team introduced a nasty defect.
