Door card screw in clips
Hi
For the people who have taken their door cards off. The screws that you take out have push in clips that are supposed to stay in thw door. And you screw into these, my passenger side was just spinning but got the door card off. Now in need of these clips if anyone knows what they look like, I can post a pic later for anyone that wants to see them? |

They're supposed to stay in the door card, not the door. They slot in to the door card, and can just be pulled in and out of the holes in the door itself. The only time you should need a new one is if you lose one, or accidentally crush one when replacing the door card if it's misaligned... Which I've done!
They're cheap as chips on eBay

Can you link them to me please ? I tried ebay and just found the ones that push in.
Looks like the door card has been off before. The botom one came right out with the door card. I pushed it back in but when screwing it back in it still keeps spinning. The top has spilt in half and the white part got stuck inside the door and the black bit and screw came out. So will need two for that side and hopefully everythings fine. Drivers door no problem, like you said they should have stay inside the door, so only realised once the drivers door card came off |

Then I'm lost as to what your referring to? The door card is held on by two metal screws that go through the door handle and then these plastic clips all round, and that's it.. :

You wouldn't believe how quickly and easily you can take one apart when you've done it a few times!

Passenger side gave me problems, it then took me a couple minutes taking the drivers side off and then from there found out that they were actually supposed to stay in the door |

Yes I watched the video a few times before trying it.
Window control was tight but got there in the end, door handle was easy enough too. I was more worried about how it would go back together but everything went back perfect was solid enough unlike my old car, Speakers are a HUGE step up too, not sure how they compare with HK though, still not lisented to one |

But the end result is good enough for a car I guess.

Mega thread bump.... sorry!
Anyone got any advice on how these threaded inserts go into the door? I need to replace two of these in total, and now have some spares to tackle the job. It looks like the black part rotates from the white part - probably to secure it once fitted? My damaged ones have stripped - but remain in the doors. Is it just a case of prising the old ones out, or is there a knack to it? Thanks to anyone that can help!! |
