Install MPE outside of dealer?

How easy would it be to install the M performance exhaust independently away from dealers? I imagine it's a simple bolt-on and wouldn't take too long. Any issues with ECU or warranty concerns?

In this case I'd be inclined to have the dealer do it in order to ensure warranty coverage.

It is a simple job. 30 minutes. There is no issue with ECU. There is no issue with warranty. Rent or buy an exhaust pipe cutting tool (easy to rent at an auto zone or pep boys). Cut the pipe at the marked dimple.

Just fyi for consideration - work performed by BMW dealers comes with a two year, unlimited mileage warranty.

Look at the DIY post in the DIY forum. It looks very easy. Cut pipe, remove old muffler, install clamp, install new muffler.

Installing this exhaust is really easy.... it already has pre-marked lines where to cut the pipe. i did it in my garage in 20 minutes..

I hear you on the warranty but not much can go wrong with an exhaust.
