Dash trim interior GTS/CS style

So.. after many months planning and debating whether I could complete this, here we are

Everything was done by myself barring the the laser cutting, which a machine did for me.

The process is super simple once you’ve sorted out a vector that works in such minute detail, however since posting it on a Facebook group I’ve had 11 people offering me cash and pleading for answers how to replicate it.. now I’ll happily admit that I bought the alcantara from the UK official registered retailer UKHide, and that the fabric was laser cut rather than etched, but the whole idea is that I wanted something unique, so if you manage to replicate it then great; but I’m not wanting to give out a full how to instruction list especially as how easy it is

I tried to match the korallrot colour in a metallic paint and then sprayed the original trim piece, then it’s just a case of laying the laser cut alcantara over the top (it has the rectangles cut out allowing depth).

Had the trim piece been bigger I would have also considered something like a French seam with some top stitching too, I just didn’t want to crowd it.

Yeah it’s a bit marmite! I love it on the seats and the dash is also nice but I’m not overly crazy about it, I think had there been an exact same spec car without the coloured dash then I might have opted for it. Then again a leather dash is what I really want, maybe when come across a new found fortune haha

Looks great!, but contradictory if you have debadged your car , also I think it would look much better if your trim was Matt CF

Yeah I guess it does ha, I'm not massively fussed about the 435i badge however I do prefer the rear lid being super clean so that's my only reason for debadging the rear
