7/100 Extended Vehicle Protection for '13 335i xDrive - Prices Paid?

I am evaluating whether to purchase BMW 7/100 Extended Vehicle Protection for my 2013 335i xDrive. Plan to keep it for at least 7 years.

Very interested in what others paid for the same extended vehicle protection (aka extended warranty).

Also - very much aware about the "do / don't buy" debate. Just interested in prices at this point. Thank you.

Retail for 6/100k was $2300 for me....I got much cheaper though due to dealer issues.

Sorry for reviving a zombie thread...I finally sat down with with the finance manager at my dealership today and put in my DP. He is offering me 84mo/70000mi extended warranty at a "discount" for $3750, originally $5510. He's also willing to offer me 72mo/100000mi extended maintenance for $2095, originally $2995. Question is do you guys think this is worth it? I'm planning on keeping the car for at least 5-7 years.

For maintenance or warranty? Should I jump on it if they honor my request for the warranty for $2995 as well?

This is for warranty only...maintenance is still the standard 4/50, although I may look at extending it after I've owned it a little longer. The cost on the maintenance is in line with what I've seen over the past few years, so you're looking at around $5K for extended maintenance and warranty. Depending on how many miles you drive and how you drive those miles will determine whether this is a good deal for you. Brakes alone would run you maybe $1600 or more at the dealer, and these usually wear out AFTER the 4/50 is up for most folks, but hard to say at what point in time/how many miles.

Can anyone explain the difference between extended warranty and extended maintenance with real world examples?

Should maintenance be considered all scheduled maintenance services, i.e. replacement of wear parts and fluids? Does that include tires, wipers etc as well?

And warranty is anything that breaks outside of wear items? Such as radio, AC, etc...?

It looks like I might skip on these offers. I can't imagine routine maintenace like changing brakes, oil, fluids etc. to be too difficult and expensive if I do them myself. Worse case, if there's a job I can't handle, my mechanic at the local indy shop sure as hell wouldn't charge as much as BMW stealerships would.

The maintenance he is offering you at $2095 is the standard price for it so he's not giving you a discount. It even has the option to buy it at that price on the "build your own" page of bmwusa.com

The extended maintenance covers all of your oil changes, brake pads, rotors, fluids, etc. But does not include tires, wheel alignments, or mount and balancing. The warranty is exactly what you stated in the sentence.

Works the same way as the maintenance plan under the factory warranty that comes with car

Same with extended warranty but it may have a deductible depending on which one you get. Ask the business manager about that

Ahh good catch, I just checked the website and confirmed this. I guess I'll call him out on it and demand he take $200 off of the $2095 and see what he has to say then lol.
