Adjusting the +3/3.5/4psi is geared towards stage 1 owners, you'll get better performance with Map 5 and the JB4 (what some people mistake for "stage 2"). FYI - Map 1 on the JB4 is basically stage 1.

Map 0: JB4 disabled.
Map 1: PWG models absolute target 21psi peak, EWG models additive 4psi peak over stock.
Map 2: PWG models absolute target 22psi peak, EWG models additive 6psi peak over stock.
Map 3: Progressive Methanol Injection. Requires BMS methanol kit or BMS FSB for meth pump control.
Map 4: Stock performance, JB4 on
Map 5: Absolute targeting map with a peak boost 17psi. Suitable for 320 & 520 applications.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas absolute target map. Peak boost 23psi. This is a fairly aggressive map and increases engine damage risk. Use with caution.
Map 5 is not auto tuning on the N20/N26. You said it yourself in your post, its the 320i map.
Whoops, I got confused there, where did I get auto tuning from?!?

Edit - I got to the auto tuning piece confusing the N55 and N20 JB4's, Map 5 on the N55 is an auto tuning map.

Anyone have issues leaving the box in the engine bay without waterproofing, I have the box slid into the plastic area right by windshield wipers and struts, seems to be pretty dry in there but not sure if need to weatherproof it any further

Getting the connectors off was quite literally impossible without using the screw driver for assistance. No matter how hard I pressed they just did not want to come lose. Once I figured out how to get them out with the driver it took all of about 3 seconds.

Here's the next thing. At some point BMW added a cover to the place that I have so eloquently put some red marks around in paint. This cover requires a T20 torx bit to remove.

Here's another tip: When removing the plastic cover that covers the brake fluid reservoir (and the place where you will put the jb4), make sure to turn those little plastic nuts, this is release the clips holding it in and makes it come out a lot easier. Just turn them back when you put the cover back on. There are markers indicating that its in the proper spot.

Now, as for the tune itself:

I noticed an immediate power increase. The tune has woke up the car to where it really should be from the factory. The power delivery is smooooooth. Unfortunately I couldn't open up too much on the highway today but driving around town last night I was able to easily feel the improvement in acceleration.

I will update this as time goes on and after I get a chance to do some proper pulls with it in.

UPDATE (4 days with tune):

I finally had some time to push the car yesterday and really experience what this tune is doing for me. I have to say I'm extremely impressed.

My main issue with this car is that the power feels like its gone once you hit 5th gear and higher, there's just no power to accelerate. If you were on the highway and wanted to pass someone the car would always have to downshift because it simply doesn't have the power in the higher gears. THIS IS NOT THE CASE ANYMORE! I tested by driving in in manual mode and now when in 5th, 6th, and even 7th gear I do not need to downshift any more to get power from the car. There is now a noticeable pull in 5th and 6th and even some pull in 7th. I did not have to downshift to accelerate or pass anymore.

I also had a few BMW Genius friends of mine drive the car and they were extremely impressed, he said it felt damn near close to a 335 which he drives almost daily.

All in all this tune is definitely worth the $379 brand new, it breathes new life into your 328.
Hey Smith, do you have any idea on what screw size is it for the cover that you circled in red?

I did an install and accidentally dropped the screw inside the engine bay lol.

Now my car rattles like crazy every 2000-3000 rpm

Assuming thats the cover, then part #4 is the screw.

Just gotta to a little OEM parts site digging to find what you need

Hey smith, for some reason after checking the part number, I think the screw looks really different from what used to be there.

It's not a T20 torx screw.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=559480

Based on that thread, there is a possibility that its not listed as a part number

Oh true, it should be a torx not a hex.

Just go to your dealer and explain and let them give you a few short T20 torx screws.

Ok I'll visit my dealership tomorrow and see if they have it.

Should I remove my BMS Stage 1 first before going to dealership just for the screw?

So can anyone provide Long term updates with the BMS Stage 1 set up? Has there been anything detrimental, other than the slightly increased jerkyness some experience.

Also, i assume people are removing the system when visiting dealerships?

Cheers in advance, very interested in purchasing this and waking up my 428.

I used the Stage 1 for a while and a JB4 for a combined total of nearly 20k miles on my last 2 cars and had 0 issues related to or stemming from the tune.

So what was your routine for dealership visits (Service etc.) Did you remove the set up? Just trying to judge what the livability is?

I just leave mine on and disconnect the OBD2 cable (in case they have to plug in their OBD2 equipment). My dealer has been great to work with.
