That was the biggest miss for the e9X.(unless you jumped to an M)It just felt cold to me. The F30 is a HUGE improvement. but they do get nicer the more optioned they are

Everything is just...very old, reminds me of my brothers 2008 135i. Glad BMW updated the 3-series, it was CLEARLY very needed.
Sorry to be a part of word police, but "anachronistic" makes absolutely no sense in the context you used.

Maybe he means it's a 1911 interior in a 2011 car? (Or something along those lines. Like the interior of a 1998 Porsche 911 being nearly identical to a 1968 911, but not to that extreme of course...)

Personally, I dont think BMW is known for their interiors, but the E90 looks like it belongs in a 2006 to 2011 car and the F30's interior looks like it came out of a 2012 to 2013 car, so the time periods are correct as far as their designs. With that said, BMW always had a pretty boring and traditional interior, the interior material is what stands out in most BMW, not the design itself. If you want an advance looking interior, the Lexus and Audi interiors look a bit more modern.

I preferred the E46 dash to the E90 dash....and I've been staring at that for 6 years now (the E90 dash). I love the F30 dash. The E46 felt like a cockpit where the instruments faced the driver. e90 got away from this and F30 seems to move back to that feel.

The E90 dash just reminds me of a Buick with the one huge dash piece that extends across 65% of the cabin.

I last had a 535GT. Oddly my wife liked it and wants one for herself. I called it The Rhino since it was gray. Pontiac took flack for the Aztec and here BMW makes one all over again.

Yes, the E46 dashboard was awesome for the driver...and the F30 is bringing the driver's focus back finally!

I feel like part of the car in my E46 M3. Awesome cockpit.

Had an E90 for about a month, and ugh. The F30 feels a lot like the E46.

My ONLY gripe about the interior of the F30 is the damn skinny steering wheel. Something seemingly small such as this is really a big deal to me.

Otherwise the interior is amazing. The only thing that I didn't like about the e90 is the shift lever. Love the new sport auto lever much better.

My first BMW was an E39 530i non-Sport, and the wheel on that was skinny too. It always bugged me.

Just a warning, don't ever sit in/try the M-sport steering wheel. You might fall in love and sell your car for it

BMWs make you smarter

Sorry to be a part of word police, but "anachronistic" makes absolutely no sense in the context you used.

I actually meant "archaic" but my autocorrect on my GS3 knows I use anachronistic more often than I should...

This forum is kind of blowing my mind. After years of getting used to mental-midgetry on the web, I just can't get used to the fact that most of you are actually intelligent.

its the target demographic...3 series' are getting more expensive (i never thought i'd be able to swing a $50k car at 33) so you end up concentrating the pool of those that can afford these expensive buggers at introduction...i'm sure it'll be different in 2 years-

Well, when I first say pictures of the wheel online (when BMW intro'd the M-sport?) I was not a fan. I thought it looked too strange, too pseudo-retro, whatever. Then, I actually sat in a car and put my hands on it. Perfect size, good texture, very comfortable. Since obviously it's the part you're most in contact with (besides the seat) I had to have it... no other line was even a consideration after that experience. And I'm coming from a true ///M wheel on an E92 M3. The new M-sport wheel may even be better!

are the M// sport wheels capable of being combined with a cold weather package?
I'd hate to give up the heated steering wheel...

Yes, you can get Cold Weather Package (which includes heated steering wheel).

I found out that for the ActiveHybrid 3, the heated steering wheel is a $0 option with the M-sport package. So I got it

I've heard so many conflicting things about this. I ordered the Cold Weather Pkg on an M-Sport and my CA told me that the M-Sport overrides the heated wheel you'd get with the CWP. I guess I'll know for sure in a few weeks.
