I did a little experimenting earlier this year when I got mine (uk march car, with pro nav and HK)

The system will play FLAC files right up to 24/192 (yet to try 24/352)

Recomendations from HD tracks would be

Eagles Hotel Califonia 24/192
The Doors L.A Woman 24/96
The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots 24/96
Black Sabbath Paranoid 24/96
Glen Hansard Rhythm And Repose 24/96

Do you guys think I can code my f30 to read flac files. I have 2014 with combox in the back. Already coded enhanced Bluetooth. Have HK as well.

I am in the same boat as you and would like to know if it is possible. I feel like I got cheated out of some perks and maybe should have spent the extra money on Navi.

Can you tell me how/what you're storing your HD music on to get them into the car?

I've been looking at a high-end HD music player and it would be great to know I can use them in the car. Are you using a flash drive/SSDD/USB stick?

As an aside, does anyone know how the BMW downsamples the HD music once it's been fed into the onboard audio? What DAC (or DACs) do BMW/HK use?

I would doubt that HK/Pro-audio would actually handle full hi-res music at original bitterest and frees and would drop it to something more "manageable", say 16-bit/44.1kHz?
