E85 question

is 4 gallons of e85 bad for your car

Of course with jb4 on map 5

Does it harm the injectors etc.?

No problem. Not one instance of a problem on components. Too much and the car might not run right but keep the ratio low, like you have and enjoy the, bump. I put in 3.5 gal today.

EWG cars tend to be happy at no more than e30-e35 blend
PWG cars are more E friendly and my friends run up to e40 blend

No cars are the same so Make sure you work your way up slowly, and ALWAYS LOG to see how your Fuel Pump Pressure is running especially on WOT.

Last, use E85 calculator http://www.georgebelton.com/E85Calculator.php

You do not need any additional components on this car for low blend of E85

Just make sure you start at E25 and slowly work your way up until you reach the max you car can handle

Do you need the flex fuel wires with the JB4 to run E85 mixes?

It is recommended that you use it, yes.

Good news is that if you get the newest JB4 version, Flex fuel wires are inlcuded

You don't need a windows PC to log. My MacBook Pro running OSX logs just fine.

You can run your car without logging, but why risk not knowing if its running healthy ? When you feel a misfire or cut off, don't you want to read the code or see the values of the PIDS parameter if they're happy or not?

Do you currently have jb4? if not then I recommend going Bootmod3

About e85.
Does anyone have done it the other way around when filling up? Putting 93 then e85, asking because, I normally fill up at my Sam's Club and the E85 pump is like 10 miles from Sams.

Even though I have several high powered computers I did not have a laptop....so what I did is buy a cheap one off of craigslist and use that exclusively for JB4 logging and coding as well. You could probably find one for this purpose for 50-75$.

But if you have a Mac there's a version of the JB4 app available for it.
