BTW, I do have the sunroof. Also, I don't SEE any difference looking at the gutter, before and after.
BMW did the same thing last week and nothing change
I always have this wind noise a over 120 kmh

I just got my car back from service (rusty seat bases replaced). I also complained about the wind noise again.

There was a visible gap between the door window and top right corner of the window guide. They replaced the window guides (both driver and passenger) and the wind noise is much less than before. I used to be able to notice strong wind noise starting at about 45 mph, now I don't hear anything until at least 65. I need to do some more driving to see if I'm satisfied with the noise level or not. I realize that this car is always going to have some wind noise, especially at high speeds.

I asked them to check the windshield drip moldings too, but they said they were ok and didn't replace them. I may try some taping myself to see if I can further reduce and isolate the noise.

Could you post a picture of the exact location?

There was a gap between the window and the molding/guide in the top right corner of the front windows.

Here's a (bad) picture of it:

BMW replaced the windows guides and adjusted the window so that there is no more gap.

Thanks for the pic. I just took a look at mine soon as i saw your post and noticed my front windows are no where near as flush as my rear windows. I will point this out when i take the car in.

Your post gives me hope. Do you know the PUMA number by any chance?

I think that a lot of noise is also generated from my sports tyres. I will see if i can get them swapped with more comfort oriented tyres like the pirelli summers. At the moment i have bridgestone potenza s001 summers which generate far too much cabin noise for comfort.

There wasn't a PUMA case number mentioned in the work order/invoice, sorry.

I have the Pirelli's and they are a bit noisy too. The noise really depends on the pavement surface. This is my first car with run-flats and they seem to transmit road noise a lot more than I've noticed on previous cars.

Anything further on this? I also have the wind noise issue specifically at the upper corner of the b-pillar above 80 kph on both sides of the car. It is even worse when I tilt the sunroof. I've tried holding a glove at this location and it completely eliminates it. I don't think this could be caused by the mirrors or windshield drip edge as others have reported. It seems to me as though it is a seal issue with mine. I am constantly trying to close the windows as they sound as though they are open. Passing cars are very clearly heard. This is unacceptable for a car of this type. I rented a chevy malibu on the weekend and I was amazed how quiet it was compared to my 328. Mine is German built and I believe has a March 2012 build date, but not positive. It is a 2013, so I'm not sure what month they actually transition the model year. Anyway, was there ever anything come out of the "new" mirror housings?

Welcome to the club. I have THE EXACT issues as you're indicating. It's like you copy / pasted my post

Did you guys check if there was a gap in seal on the front door windows near the back of the upper b-pillar?

This was mine before I have the dealer fix it:

http://www.f30post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=137

Now the windows are flush with the outside seal in this area. I wouldn't say all of the wind noise is gone, but the noise was greatly reduced after they fixed it.

Mine is also an early April 2012 build.

I have not heard anything more about new mirror covers.

My impression compaired with E90 (M6) is that the F30 (8AT) has less transmission sound, improved motor noise, less tire noise. So consequentially, wind noise automatically comes to the foreground as enoying factor. But I still think BMW has a homework to do......

Any comments on VENTTEC's product or alternative deflectors ?

Just picked up my 328 last week. I too can hear some wind noise at 40mph. Almost sounds like the AC blower is on high.. This "sounds" like it is coming from the drivers side. I wanted to drive the car for a week or so before complaining to make sure there is no other problems.

I did see your earlier post on this gap and immediately checked mine and I did not see any noticeable gap. Everything appears to be well sealed. I even took a pressure washer to it, so I'm not sure what is causing it. It seems odd that simply holding my glove up in the corner of the window by the b-pillar will eliminate it completely.

I did submit an inquiry to VENTEC to get the price to possibly order a set, but they never responded to me. I can't seem to find any other manufacturer's of these for the F30.

Mine looks exactly the same. I thought it is supposed to be like this. It would be marvelous if you could take a pic of the same area now, after the fix. You know, before and after

There are now no gaps when I run my fingernail along the glass/rubber seam on either the driver or passenger windows.

Yup, you can clearly see the gap in the 1st image. Thanks for posting this.

Checked again and no gaps in mine. If there were, I would have a bit of reassurance that it could be remedied. I'm not so confident.

Already did mine previously, so I know the numbers using a Scosche SPL-1000 sound level meter and it varies, but seems to be around 93 dB when driving at 120 kph. It will max out at over 100 dB when going over expansion joints and the like, but normally around 93 which is excessive. I did not compare the results with my iphone app.
