After about 500 miles, I am still very happy with the sound and performance. COld starts are very loud but quiet down nicely. Not obstrusive driving around town with windows closed, but more obvious with windows open. I find I use Manual mode a lot more now to keep the revs up and hear the gurgle. Absolutely no drone while cruising on highway and very little, if any, around town. My wife, who has very sensitive ears, said the sound didnt bother her at all while we drove out for a date night.

I would say try it out and see if you like it. its cheap enough to do, takes about 30 min at a muffler shop and is completely reversible so you have nothing to lose. You can always add a glass pack resonator if you want to deepen or deaden the sound a little and youre still saving a ton of money over an aftermarket exhaust system.

I've installed the M-performance mufflers at work.. Honestly the muffler delete is 10x better. At least for my preferences
What diameter piping did you use?

Sounds nice. Have you taken any pictures of the setup. I'd like to see the exhaust tips you used.

Thank you for those 2 vids! That sounds good man. My only question is do you get drone when doing low speeds in 7th gear? Thats my main concern of doing this mod. Iam not sure if i should look into getting a better muffler or maybe even a resonator for the drone.

you're going to get some drone in higher gears at low speeds but its not that bad. and its easily reversible if you don't like it

Yah you got a point. I am thinking about ordering a dynomax vt muffler in case i cut the stock off and not like it.Not sure if this is a good idea just as yet. All i want is to be able to hear my exhaust note.

Has any of the brave souls with muffler delete taken their cars in for service? Would dealer say anything if the car is leased? I realize that it's reversible, but not sure how dealer would feel if I show up to service with muffler missing. First time leaser here so I am just curious.

The muffler is actually not as heavy as I thought, pretty light surprisingly. Definitely nothing compared to the e90's muffler

Catless DP with mufler delete would be too loud.... I've tried the DP with a catback only and the drone between 2k and 3,5k was impossible to live with! Also, the noise was VERY LOUD!
Now I only have the DP, but would love to have the "burps" when upshifting more present...

I did my own delete, I'm a master tech at the local dealer. I used factory cut point using factory replacement clamps. I would have no problem servicing cars with exhausts. Our dealer at least, doesn't mind exhaust systems on cars. The only time it becomes a problem is when there's an issue related to the part. IE: Rattle caused by drone/exhaust installs. Or SES light due to catless DP etc. As long as its not causing a problem that you're bringing the car in for, then we don't care. Please be advised, this is my opinion and only at our dealer. I can't say what other dealers will do.
