BMW F30 M-Performance Parts

Hi guys,

Wanted to start a more recent thread regarding the M Performance parts for the F30...i had a few questions:

1) Who has any parts fitted? I have only got the grills, but am seriously tempted by many of the other parts available!

2) Pricing...i have been quoted rather high (imo) prices by my dealer...what prices are you guys getting from yours?

3) Availability - the second hand / eBay market for these parts is almost non-existent, was hoping to pick up some used bits

Of course if any of you can contribute some pictures of your F30 with the parts, that would be great

EDIT - reaaallllly want the interior trim and m-performance alcantara steering wheel *drool*

Thanks!

No probs! Here's mine:

After some negotiations with BMW parts, the Kit cost me £1000 (splitter, side bits and diffuser), then £250 for fitting and £200 for paintwork (as you can see went for a partial paint job).

The spoiler was ordered seperately (with the grills and car itself), so to be honest can't be sure how much it was, around £400 to £500 as it's a carbon one.

Interior, only done the pedals so far, not keen on the alcantara stuff but I do like the carbon fibre effect, however I also like the current aluminium so not fussed about changing it.

Alloys, no not yet, if I did change the alloys I would likely go with an aftermarket type, maybe some brushed alloy Lenso's, they look very modern and fit the style of the BMW very well, but currently I don't mind how it looks with the 19's so it's something to think about next year.

Looks excellent, yours blends in perfectly, mines a bit "noticeable", did you paint the diffuser or keep that black?

Wow, two super looking cars.

I'm really partial to the BBS LM, but by god they are expensive. Would look amazing on your car d4springer!

Left the Diffuser in Matt black.. Looking at yours I think on a white car, it couldn't look better than yours. Is it Alpine or Mineral?

Just googled them, yes they are a bit on the pricey side! Nice though, forged alloy

It's Alpine, nearly went for EB but changed my mind at the last minute, maybe next time round

I just cannot see the attractiveness of those addenda. To these eyes very boy racer and quite a bit Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift.

Question for folks with the added rear spoiler.
Does the boot lid fully open up when pressing button on the fob ?
Thought, with the slightly added weight it wouldn't open up fully.

I read somewhere else on here (perhaps the main forum, not this UK one) that the added weight did stop the boot from opening properly, although another poster said theirs did, so go back to dealer to get it fixed.

Not seen anything else on this though.

All you do is pull the lining away from the area of the boot where the boot hinge is (on both sides) to expose the spring.

Then you simply move the spring so that it is in the rear slot rather than the front. This increases the spring tension and problem solved.

Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks HFW003!

Thought it would a springs issue, increasing the force by loosing it up..

But tbh I am quite crap with DIY, I have car booked anyway for another issue, (rattling in rear door) so will just let bmw do the fiddling. Knowing me I know I would break something in between

Looks very nice! I've got the front splitter and diffusor sat waiting for me to decide whether to put them on, did they glue your front splitter? I've been hearing stories of them being a lot lower and damage being quite easy.

Have you thought about changing the mirrors to black?

Good tip.
Although i don't intend to fit a boot spoiler, my boot release doesn't open fully around 50% of the time anyway. Adjusting the springs should help.
