But did you do it the way I described in my post? Drilling a hole in the back of the glove box and slipping the cable through? For me, I can't get my arm up there to slip the cable through without taking out the air bag.

In case you do take the airbag out, do it with the car off and battery disconnected. You can do it with the car running but it will throw a code, but the jb4 can clear it and you also don't have the peace of mind that the air bag can't possibly deploy.
There was already a square hole in the back of the glovebox, where the factory USB port would go. Top, right.

Once I got the USB into the passenger compartment I dropped a string in from the glove box and pulled the USB into the glove bob with the string.

It's all good, this thread is kinda old anyway.

So you knocked your factory USB plug out of the hole?

Never had one there.

FTR, our car is completely loaded with the exception of Enhanced Bluetooth / Office or whatever that is and the rear sunshade.

Interesting. Well that def makes the install easier when you already have a decent sized hole to run it through lol. So I'm assuming you don't have the JB4 Bluetooth cable then? Because what would you plug it into?

Don't even know what a JB4 bluetooth cable is.

Why the passenger side? Seems like extra work when the driver side already has an easy hole that some of us use for the meth.

Drivers side (US version) is used for the OBD2 connector cable. Passenger side (R side) has a firewall grommet as well.

Hmm still seemed simpler and there was a nice DYI on N54tech going through the tiny drivers side glovebox, not sure how obd2 gets in way.

I do the passenger side because that's where I keep my jb4 Bluetooth dongle plugged into, sub in the glovebox. Everything is hidden.

The Bluetooth dongle for the jb4 allows your phone to connect to the jb4 with the jb4 app and you have full functionally and control over the jb4 with your phone. Much easier than having a laptop in your car trying to take logs etc.

Yes I use the jb4 connect kit, k guess it can be more hidden that way...to each his own.
