BIMMERPOST NEWS
AC Schnitzer 4 Series Coupe

COMMENTS

AC Schnitzer has released initial info on its tuning program for the 4 Series Coupe.

Starting with the engine, the AC Schnitzer tune for the 435i bumps its power up to 360 HP (265 kW), the 428i up to 294 HP (216 kW) and the 420d up to 218 HP (160 kW). To add to the visceral experience, a sports exhaust system is available.

For handling, they offer a height adjustable 'racing suspension,' as well as a lowering sprint kit which will lower the F32 by approximately 25mm (0.98 in).

And as usual, a host of of AC Schnitzer 18-20" wheels and interior bits are also available.

Aero kit parts will be announced later. What we're seeing here is a 4 Series with M Sport Package, lower springs, ACS wheels and ACS sport exhaust.

Thankfully they didn't add a ridiculous spoiler on the back of that thing like previous ACS cars.

I actually like how the wheels look on the car, especially from that rear quarter panel shot. Ooh.

Pretty restrained for ACS...no 90's DTM-inspired stuff, no twinkly fake vents...what's going on, Herr Schnitzel?

The aero kit package hasn't yet been revealed. There are no Schnitzer aero parts on this car; it only wears the factory M Sport aero kit.

Time after time, AC has only been successful in tuning BMWs up engineering-wise but failed miserably in the look department. Once again, AC proves it is so. Sigh !! It never learns to change. So stubborn !!

This is proof that people just complain blindly with a gang mentality. Did you see and read that the car has no cosmetic aero parts by Schnitzer?

With the exception of the tune they do not impress me in the slightest. Those wheels are terrible and the exhaust tip the worst. I can only figure that their aero kit will look just like everything else they produce. BORING!!!

I guess the ACS "Tune" is a reprogrammed ECU? No new hardware unless you also opt for their exhaust?

On those exhaust tips... I think they are inspired by Porsche's optional exhaust. I actually think they would look good replacing the dual tips of a 328/428 if ACS didn't demand quad outlets.

Thx for making it more precise. However looks like you're 20% right 80% wrong.

And I was whining on the all the aesthetics tuning jobs done by AC. With your own eyes, you can find many over-sized AC badges all over the car body

So here's my question. We see Hartge, and we see AC Schnitzer extract 60hp from this car, and this N55 f30 has been out for almost 2 years.
Why on earth aren't there other aftermarket tuners still? I believe JB is the only one available as of now. Why is everyone so reluctant to put tunes out?
