New Carbon Fiber Interior and custom paint

As some of you know I do a little carbon fiber work. Since I bought my F30 recently, I decided I needed to do some work for myself for a change. So I went to my workshop and dug out some trim pieces I had and put real carbon fiber on them. I have finished the door pulls and center console. I also did the gear shift surround, but with a twist. I normally wrap the aluminum looking trim in CF and leave the underside portion OEM black. This time I wanted to be different, so I did the underside in CF and color matched the top side in Estoril blue. I also did the steering wheel trim piece even though I already had one in CF. I am also going to color match the accent stripes on the dash pieces. I am starting to carbon fiber those pieces today/tomorrow. Anyway, here are the pieces before they are installed. Installed pics coming soon.

Installed the door trim and a before and after pic of the SW trim. I plan on doing the trim around the SW trim in CF in the future. I think the dash trim in matching EBII will look much better than the matte blue accent stripe that came from BMW.

Installed the center console and gear shift surround...now it is beginning to look more personalized! Can't wait to finish the color matched dash trim.

Very good job prefer cf on steering wheel insert rather than blue

Edit: gloss black accent over shifter and dash trims would look great but that's just me. Again superb job, wish I had skills to do it myself

Thanks..I kind of like the CF on the SW right now as well, but I like the blue to break up all the CF that will be in the interior, which will include the trim around the SW trim in CF and do a CF steering wheel, so the blue will be able to break up the CF that is coming on the wheel.

The dash trim accent color is going to be EBII like the shifter and SW trim. The upper part of the dash pieces will be CF to complete the trim. I am laying the CF today on those 2 pieces and have already painted the accent color on the drivers vent trim...need to paint the main dash piece next.

I am not sure what I am going to do on the shift knob itself...maybe satin or gloss black or CF...haven't decided.

looks awesome. for the shift knob i would look to get the 2TB SAT gear shifter and then cover the trim on it in CF.

Had tried 3 times to wrap the shift knob and gave up, because the roundings in summary are too much to get the wrap bubbleless around. For me its an upcoming option to buy it from the shop...cheap thinking, I know, but I got tired of wrapping that part
Another word to your center trim panel: Its maybe the angle of taking the picture, but from here it looks like the fitting to the rear console isnt really clean...no?

Thanks...great idea about the 2TB SAT. I have been reading that it is a straight swap and if I want the quicker shift, it can be coded?

I have wrapped that gear shift for someone on here before...not sure if I still have pictures or not. It turned out very nice. I was thinking of doing this shifter, but I like the thought of doing the 2TB SAT better. I am on the lookout for one now.

Must be the angle of the picture...Looks great in the car. Fitment is perfect, just like it was with the OEM part before I took it off.

2 more pictures--

The first one is the lower accent strip for the drivers dash trim. The second is the long dash trim. Painted EBII...the drivers piece has been clear coated and polished. The other has only been painted...will clear coat in the next few days. The lack of clear and shadows makes the longer dash piece seem a different color but it isn't.

Should be finished with the 2 carbon fiber pieces for the dash early next week and then will reassemble the pieces back together.

This looks fantastic. Excellent work! Same here, I'd be all over the M performance trim if not for the chintzy, awful ultrasuede. Sorry, I mean alcantara.
