N55 Downpipe + Resonator delete

Here's a short video of my car with ER Catless DP + Resonator delete + modded muffler.

Other mods that may affect sound are JB4 on map 5 and DIY M-Perf style intake.

Exhaust is hot, this is after a 40min drive.

Dude the resonator delete sounds so good on the N55 sounds good and no drone. But does it have drone with the DP?

There is slight drone when you have the revs bellow 2k rpm under load, but it's not anything major worth being worried about. I despise drone and I can absolutely live with it the way it is now.

What muffler mod do you have done? I removed my resonator on Saturday. If anyone is planning a DIY, its pretty simple, but you are gonna need lap-joint clamps.

The muffler mod that's been posted on here. Cutting it open and having the holes welded shut (or having the perforated tubes replaced with solid tubes, different strategy, same result).

This sounds interesting, I want to get a JB4 and a downpipe down the line at some point within the next 3 months. How much did the exhaust place charge you for doing this? and what did you tell them to do? My brother is looking to do something like this with his car, F10.

Do it ! You will love the performance you get with the JB4 and down pipe ! They took 140$CAD for parts and labor. They cut the OEM resonator out and welded a straight pipe in its place. Sprayed the welds with silver exhaust paint to prevent rusting.

You don't need them, but you need a downpipe for map2.

Your chargepipe won't necessarily explode. You should change it as a preventive measure to avoid having it crack due to the increased pressure and airflow. Mine is still stock and hasn't cracked running map5.

As far as the intake go, you should see slightly more power than the OEM intake, but we're talking less than 10hp so it shouldn't be a day and night difference. It will however change the sound of your car significantly.

Thanks for sharing. I heard CP are very easily crack even with the stock ecu setting. Do you mean intake gonna change the sound of intake or exhaust or both?

I think CP cracking was a bigger issue on N54s. I've only seen one case of N55 CP failing on these forums but there might be more. If you want to have peace of mind you should get it ! I had originally purchased one for my car but it didn't fit (because my car is Xdrive and they're different, they now make CP that fit Xdrive).

Depending on which intake you chose, it'll make your cars intake more or less loud. Won't affect exhaust note at all.

Yes, my car is also a xdrive, I think bms don't have CP for xdrive but ER does.
