2014 BMW 335i M-Sport Coated with CQuartz FINEST - Anthony's Auto Detailing

This car was brand new, and luckily the owner is very well educated when it comes to detailing. He made sure the car was never touched or washed by the dealership...he pulled the plastic off himself.

The owner contacted me about a week before the work was performed, he had vehicles Opti-Coated in the past, and for the type of care he takes of his vehicles, and to achieve the look he was going for, we decided on CQuartz FINEST instead. I am 1 of only 2 authorized installer in NJ...the other being Greg Gellas at Signature Detailing in Hillsborough, NJ...so for you North Jersey people, he is your man to go to. For FINEST in South Jersey, I have you covered.

Anyway, the owner prepped the car for me! It was washed and decon'd for me when I got there. I was able to inspect the bare paint and we noticed very minimal damage, mainly 4 straight-line scratches on the trunk deck, some minor scratching on the rear-driver's side door, and the B pillars had typical damage.

Since the damage was so minimal, I was able to one-step the car with M205 on tangerine HT pads on my Rupes 15. I did the pillars and smaller areas with a 3" DA and tangerine HT pads as well. The deeper scratches took more than one pass...but M205 is strong enough to produce some cut...but it finished down 100% perfect on this paint, as it usually does. I reach for M205 more than any other polish these days.

Anyway, after a full eraser wipedown, FINEST was applied, 2 thick coats, using all 50mL of the bottle. The gloss was phenomenal.

On to the pictures!

When I arrived:

The deep scratches on the trunk(There were 4 perfectly in line, we think it's from the plastic being applied...it has to be a machine with how consistent the scratches were.

Corrected:

The damage on the rear door:

Removed:

B-pillar damage:

50/50:

Corrected(about 90% correction...the paint is thin in these areas, we weren't going to compromise the integrity to chase deep defects):

EVERY spot is cared for equally. The sun may never hit these spots...but they got just as much attention as any other portion of the vehicle.

Corrected:

Applying CQuartz FINEST:

All done! The gloss on the white is POPPING!

Thanks for looking!

Amazing Job Anthony! Rupes are awesome machines in experienced hands! I did opti-coat on mine but definitely looking at CQuartz if I go with another coating down the road or on another car. The gloss and shine really sets it apart!

Spectacular job!!! To get white paint to look like that is amazing!!

I think my car was opticoated at the dealer. And I polish and wax by hand. What products could you recommend me to produce the best shine and protection possible??

Nice work, I wish I could find someone like that around here for a similar coating.

This thread has inspired me to get CQuartz installed on my brand new Estoril Blue 328xi GT. I can't wait! I'm going to be using this company for the application as I have neither the skill nor the ability to acquire the product nor the time to do something like this.

Wish I did! It looks fun to do!

How did you correct the scratches on the b pillar? Would maguiar's scratch x work? Thank you!

I'm also wondering about the best way to correct the gloss black B pillars. I've used some light compound and polish and it hasn't helped

This is OP working on mine when I first got it. Meguiar's 205 with a small DA buffer. No sun that day, so he's got an LED spotlight on his forehead. Earlier, I had tried M205 by hand and really made no progress.
