330e usa release date

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows when the 330e would be released for the American market. My lease is up in 3 months and I'm thinking I might want to get a 330e since my new work commute is 8 miles round trip. thanks

I bet that with current gas prices, the price premium for the 330e won't be made up during a 3-yr lease term. Especially since plug-ins usually also have lower lease residuals than their gas counterparts. The bigger question is probably how does BMW handle the federal/state tax credits on a lease; GM give you something like a $4500 lease credit on the Volt to make up for pocketing the tax credit.

Obviously there are other benefits (fewer gas station visits, image/warm fuzzies, dat torque), but it's very unlikely there will be a financial benefit for the 330e over the 330i.

I got mine a few weeks ago. Got it from inventory (dealer searched entire US inventory for me and bought the car I picked out of the inventory from a dealer in another state). That got me the vehicle with the options I wanted.

By the way...note that if you slide into a 2017 model your covered warranty drops from 4 years to 3 and will no longer include brake pads, etc.

** maintenance ...not warranty. Warranty is still 4 year, 50,000 miles.
