Will It fit?

I would vastly appreciate a technical and non-technical explanation of "Will It Fit"?

Have 2014 335xi with M Sport package, Blue M Brakes. Currently 400M rims, staggered setup.

I have 193M staggered setup from my 2011 e90.

1. If I remove the tires from the 193M, and replace with tire size appropriate for 400M, will it fit on the 2014 335xi? I have seen others with these rims on a F30

2. How do I know whether there are any variance in rim size between the 400M and 193M? Do I just physically measure them?

3. Would I need spacers? How would I know?

The long story short, is that it is my intention to use the 193Ms (or 400Ms, whichever I choose to not have DD) as track ready rims.

Thanks for your input!

The specs on the 2 sets of wheels are very close:

193M:
18x8" ET34
18x8.5" ET37

400M:
18x8" ET34
18x8.5" ET47

With their lower offset, your 193 rear wheels will project out 10mm further than the 400's...they should wind up just inside the fender. I've had 8.5" rear wheels with ET33 and ET35 and they are pretty damn flush.

Your fronts have the identical size and offset, so they'll obviously fit the same. You'll probably want to consider ~10mm spacers on the front to match the appearance of the rear.

Thanks so much for your help. So really is just the difference of the offset, which due to your utility of a lower offset you can confirm that there's no rubbing on bumps, just an extension outward of the rim.

Appreciate it!

A lot of people fit ~10mm/F and ~15mm/R spacers to the staggered 18x8" ET34 / 18x8.5" ET47 OEM 400M wheels. That isn't an aggressive setup...it just fills out the wheel wells nicely. Your 193 rears are basically starting with the equivalent of a 10mm spacer. Cosmetically, you may want to do something similar in the front, but it would only be for aesthetics. To visualize how the 193s will fit in the rear, put a straight edge against your 400 rears and measure out 10mm.
