Storing your phone

New to this car and I'm having a hard time deciding where to keep my phone. I want to be able to see it while I drive but can't determine a good location for it. Has anyone done a custom mount?

I have an iPhone 5s and I'm considering running a cable under the wood on the center counsel and having it come out near the cup holders. I don't like the cable just laying around. I'm considering doing some type of mount up by the cup holders. I usually keep my phone plugged in so I can control Tunein through idrive.

Thoughts?

I just keep mine on the seat plugged in so I can pick it up at red lights. Shouldn't have disclosed that

On a related question - I saw in pictures regular F30 have a tray that fits over the cup holders and can be stored in the glovebox. My F34 didn't come with such a tray. Was it supposed to? It would be a good place to store the phone....

Yes, mine came with a cover that goes over the cup holder. There is storage spot for it in the glove box. I usually have coffee in my car so I never use the tray.

The trays were included on 2014 models. They are no longer included in 2015 USA models.

I heard you can buy them though and they're only about $35 each.

Not 100% sure about this but I think that you probably do still get the tray if you have the extended storage option - although I think this may not apply in all countries.
