OEM Xenon High Beam issue! (For a friend)

Hey guys,

Myself and my buddy have just had OEM Xenons retrofitted to our cars. MIne were fitted about 4 weeks ago. His were done yesterday, He has a 2013 M sport F31 and I have a 2014 F30.

My car works together fine, high beam all working etc. His car on the other hand is not, when the car has its low beams on (main headlight) the high beam shutter does not work.

I have checked our FEM modules and they seem to be different. Anyone got any idea what might be wrong?

Probably coding issue since it's retrofitted. I would have the installer, or whoever did the coding for the retrofit to go back over it.

Hi,

I have the same problem as your friend.

I retrofited my F31 and the high beams don't work
Everything else is working: angel eyes, low beams....

It seems that some FEMs (MID) don't support Bi-xenon. I bought a used FEM (MAX) which supports Bi-xenon, check the difference in the following picture:

Your friend has two options:
1. Order a new FEM (MAX) in the dealer and ask the dealer to code it
2. Buy a used FEM (MAX) and ask someone to code it and change the VIN (the module will only work with the VIN of the car coded in it).

I chose the second option and I didn't succeed so far. I found a guy who said was able to code it, but he wasn't after all. Now I am in a dead end.

I'm considering buying a new one in the dealership or give up on the retrofit
