Big difference, I was actually surprised at how noticeable the ASD becomes with it coded this way.

Saw it in another thread that you had the dealer update the I-Level. What level of PSdZdata did the dealer update it to? Are you concerned the dealer would update it to a version beyond 54.1? Versions 54.2 and 54.2 are trimmed so that makes FDL coding harder.

I was concerned but I figured worst case I could inject old CAFD. I don't remember the new I-Level of the top of my head, I will check the next time I do some coding.

Drive mode: Sport

Before: ASD at factory setting, Baureihe = F031, Motor = N20B20
After: ASD modified, Baureihe = F080, Motor = S55B30

Nice video, I think the sound difference in person is even more dramatic then the video makes it seem. Big difference in my car.

The factory ASD for F31 is actually not too shabby. And you're right, the F80 ASD sound in person is even more dramatic. The Garmin Virb Elite is not really the best audio recording device for this I wished i had not forgotten to turn on the GPS mode in the camera. It would have been nice to have speed info overlay on the video.

Not sure, but I would imagine so. If you have a coding setup then you can check, you can also look for the active sound design module which I THINK is by your amplifier.

I dont have the ASD module on my MY15 335i, within the e-sys that is. I haven't looked around for the actual physical module

Do you have HK ? because if you have it we are now sure that the absence of ASD is link to the 35i and no to the absence of HK.

Thanks... I do have HK. I guess for the "upgrade" i don't have ASD. shame, it would have been fun to have my F30 rumble like an F80.

on the M235 with base audio, the F80 ASD sounds pretty bad from 2krpm till around 3.5k....

like if you had a turbine inside the cabin...lot of buzzing noise...

RealOEM lists 435 as having an ASD module but that could be an error.

I spoke with BMW a while ago about this and asked them to look into whether or not the Active Sound Design is equipped in which vehicles. They confirmed it was in all MY 2014+ vehicles, including the vehicles with the 35i engine (N55). I oddly asked them if it would show up as an ECU, and they said it might not since it's connected with the amplifier.

So I'm not entirely sure what to tell you guys with the 2014+ N55 motors. However, try changing the value ASD_SOUND_OFF in HU_NBT/HU_ENTRY and see if you hear a difference inside the cabin with it on and off.
