ah ok I will try my luck but what's weird I can't find it anymore on Horizon website. it's 6000k anyway so I might not like it's color vs. 5000k bulb I have.

Email them about CanBus connectors for H8 bulbs. They'll have them for sure.

I'd go with the middle ones. They look very similar to my Horizon ones.

From the hue of the tail light, I'd say red.

Nope, I'm guessing if you buy them then you will be the first.

Where did you order the new bulbs from? Edit: never mind. Found them.

Just pulled the trigger for the same but from US as I can get it tomorrow. Did you need Load resistors for your install of these bulbs in the fogs? I am confused. Canbus connector and load resistor the same thing? Where did you get the Canbus connector for H8 from? Also when you install these do you remove the wheels or just turn it away to access the bulb housing? Your response and experience are appreciated.

I'm not sure about the CanBus connectors vs. resistors question, but I don't think they are the same. When installing, if you choose to work on the left side, turn the steering wheel as much to the left as you can, then you will have more leverage with the screws. Vice versa applies for the right side. Do post pictures of your results!

Here are the fogs and the results. I wish the color correction stickers worked as I think they match the led rings but not the HIDs. Still trying them out though.

That looks good! Have you noticed any glare? By the way, I noticed our fog light housing gives us more side light than straight light, so when cornering these lights will be extremely useful if you don't have adaptive lights or if you simply need extra ground lighting. Congrats!

Yes they do have some glare but I don't drive with them on until I get to a countryside. The do come on when I turn as I have adaptive headlamps. I think I was expecting a huge improvement but I think I was wrong. LED in reflector lamps are not the best combination unless they come stock and the optics have been done right. Honestly there is no way of measuring the lumen output of what is claimed on the box of 3000 lumen.
I didn't need a resistor or Canbus for these leds though. Which is great! Only coding to enable LEDs. I am still going to see how it does over the week. If I am not happy guess I will go back to stock halogen as nothing can be done except go to OEM LCI LED fog lamps.

That's sad to hear! I don't have Adaptive Xenon's so these come in handy for me. It's true that they aren't ideal in a fog light housing, they do have a powerful output in my car. I use whatever lighting they provide to help me with pot-hole vision due to the roads here being filled with them. I've noticed while cornering, the LED in the housing projects a lot to the side, which to me is helpful, as it lights up the corner's surroundings before I take it. You are right though the BMW LED Fog lights are your best option.

Cheers

Hey Nick, really great post! Thanks for putting all this together. I've read through everything a few times but want to make sure I have this correct:

Option 1 = H8 CREE LED - 50W which is a straight swap of the bulbs and is about $35 for 2 bulbs. (Link: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h8-50w-...og-light-bulbs)

Option 2 = H8 CREE XHP50 LED Headlight Kit - 3000 Lumens which are actually headlight bulbs, but work and give you more light output. These are $125 for 2 bulbs. (Link: http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h7-cree...adlight-kit-g4)

Option 3 = Replacing the halogen assembly with BMW LED Foglight Assembly. These are $350 for the 2 housings, but then I need to get LED bulbs? Is that right? (Link: https://www.ecstuning.com/ES2960697/...FVUWHwodK-sP1Q)

Sounds like Option 3 is easily the best but it's substantially more expensive. And the difference between Option 1 and Option 2 is noted throughout the thread (light output, glare, etc).

I'm leaning towards Option 1 since this is entirely an appearance upgrade for me. And each car is different, so it's impossible to know if I need the resistors or not? http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/h8-canb...ning-canceller

Thanks man.

Hey man,

If you can hold on for one day, I can confirm whether you need the CanBus connectors for the option 2 lights. Apparently this new bulb design doesn't require CanBus connectors, so tomorrow I will take my connectors off and let you know how that works. Option 1 is a good place to start IMO, if you find that you need more light, then simply move on to option 2. I personally need the strongest lights possible for my car given the amount of potholes here, however, your needs may be different, hence different light choices. I will upload some pictures right now of the fog lights in action. Hope that helps! Feel free to ask if you need more help.
