What's the fastest you've driven your F30 so far?

I am watching the Top Gear episode where they have 5000£ to spend on a performance saloon and the first challenge is to go on the autobahn and they got points for every mile/hour they achieve over 130 mph. That's pretty damn fast...and that's the speed they had to get to just to begin the challenge!

It got me wondering, how fast have current owners gone in their F30?

Hammond had a e36 M3 and the most powerful version of it had 316hp.

Clarkson had a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth, not sure how powerful it was.

May had a Mercedes 190e Cosworth which was 320hp in it's most powerful iteration.

An any case, the current 335 is probably faster than all those cars, but limited to 155mph (Hammond's M3 was also limited)

As a canuck I had to look it up, and 130 mph is 209 km/h which is faster that I have ever driven in my life....so I am wondering how far you guys have pushed that speedo....

Here is the episode:

http://www.streetfire.net/video/top-...-1_2040655.htm

As with most Top Gear episodes, it's awesome.

only went up to about 125mph on the autobahn during euro delivery of my 328i... techincally was still in "break in" period so I didn't want to push it all the way (not supposed to go over 100mph... close enough). Definitely felt like the car could go more, and it felt 100% stable. Amazing roads over there.

Don't have my F30 yet, but maxed out my E90 on the Autobahn. Scared the shit out of me and I only held it there for a second. : The needle was actually at the 160 mark- not sure if that means it's 160 and not 155, but either way it ws FAST. Can't wait to try it with the F30.

LOL this morning I drove a 320D EDE demo from my dealer to see it has the same windnoise near the windscreen/frontdoors (from 50-130kmh) as mine. Not. But that is a different story(warranty no worries)and without noticing it, I already had the 163HP 4 potter diesel @ 180kmh on the highway...

Cheers

Test drove a 535i on the Autobahn and hit 160 mph. My friend was use to seeing kmh and thougbt we were cruising at 160 km until I told him it was MPH, since it was a US Spec. He about shit himself. We passed a car in a sweeping left turn while doing this speed, got to love the autobahn!

I hit 180km/h.

We've got police all over the highway here in Canada and can rarely go over.

I think in high school when I was dumber I did 180 km/h in my parents' 4-cylinder Accord. Haven't gone that fast since, but when I test drove a 2011 S4 about 3 months ago I think I got it to 172 km/h....and that was within seconds of merging onto the highway...so maybe I'm still kinda dumb. Either way, it felt faster in the accords than in the S4...and scarier.

Hit 155mph twice in the Autobahn last month. Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to repeat that legally here in the States

Hit 155 on the autobahn during euro delivery. Here in the US I hit about 125 but that was on a track at a BMW CCA HPDE.

There is a cure for your wind noise and BMW know it.
The front screen trim needs replacing and / or door seals, then all should be fine.

Yeah I've seen the ghostrider videos (yes I know it's sweden), police is so lax over there it's too funny. In the US the pigs are nuts and they would risk your life, their life, the life of the public and everything else to stop you from doing 5 mph over the limit.

In France they don't even bother, now the speed cameras are everywhere and it goes straight to your mailbox. Now the only people speeding are foreigners who didn't realize the speeding tickets are shared all across Europe now. Many of them NL plates sorry!
