Any word on your 335i xDrive going into production this week?

Just checked W&W's site and saw the ship (Turandot) that was supposed to go out yesterday (July 4) changed to going out today (July 5). I found that strange, so I tossed my VIN into the tracker and it said my car was on board. July 19 ETA in New York. Will probably receive my "pick up" date from the dealer today. The dealer is only an hour or so from the port of entry, so I don't see this taking too long. I'll probably take delivery the week of July 23.

I just learned from my sales person that my car is also on the Turandot. What other information is needed to track the ships progress?

Yep. In production. Originally had an estimated completion date of 7/9 but checked today and it pushed to 7/10.

Here's my update

3/10 - Order Placed
3/26 - Production # Issued
5/12 - Production Begins
5/22 - Production Completes
5/29 - Released to Carrier
6/15 - Dispatched from AG
6/22 - In transit via Onyx Ace (MITSUI O.S.K. LINES)

Of course the ship can't go directly to the US so it's about a month at sea with several stops in Europe.

Hope you have better luck than I've had on the Figaro. Was a day late getting out of Zeebrugge and then spent 2 days anchored 20 mi south of Southampton off the Isle of Wright. Ship just arrived at Southampton. Just 7 days at sea and already 3 days behind schedule.

Hey guys

So...I'm starting to get a little frustrated. I ordered my car end of March, it didn't get built until June 12th. It took a week or so to build...now it's just sitting on a dock waiting to ship! I've heard many reasons why the build may have been delayed (resin plant explosion, plant change over, being lied to about dealer allocation, etc). But now, it just sits on a dock in SA.

Any expert forum input on why my 2012 car probably still won't be here in LA when some of you lucky guys will probably get your 2013's before me?

Thanks for any help... I just want to drive my car.

I would advise you to cancel your order ASAP, granted that you don't want to be waiting till at least September/ October to get a 2012, when you could have gotten a 2013 by then. 2012 335i allocations were sparse, so some dealers used SA production slots to get some sold. What they fail to tell people is the fact that it may take over 5 months + to get a car from Durban. I cancelled my 2012 which still has not got to the dealership and ordered a M-Sport. The M-Sport is likely to get here roughly 3 weeks after the 335i that I ordered back in February. If I was you I'd just go ahead and order a 2013.

When did the dealer provide you your production number? When you get it, the dealer has an allocation and you are in the build queue (usually at status 111).
Did you make it on board the Tranquil Ace (it left Durban yesterday)? If you did, you will most likely transfer at Bremerhaven to the Toscana on 8/3 and arrive at Port Hueneme on 8/28. If the Tranquil Ace gets in early, you may make the Mignon on 7/29 arriving at Port Hueneme on 8/22.
If you missed the Tranquil Ace, the next ship leaving Durban is the Miraculous Ace (leaving 7/22 arriving Bremerhaven 8/16). From there, the Tristan leaving 8/25 arriving Port Hueneme on 9/19.

For what it is worth, I ordered March 21, car built May 19, sat in Durban for a month before getting on a boat, should be here beginning of August. If your timeline is similar to mine you will be getting yours end of August or early September. I am being patient, driving my hunting truck until the BMW gets here, but this is the LAST TIME I order a BMW unless I do European Delivery. I am going to buy something from dealer's stock in the future.

I would not reorder at this point, but if you can cancel and buy something that's here I'd do that. But to go back to the end of the line and take a chance that it will be another 5-6 months due to unexplained "delays" - no way.

My CA confirmed that the car is out of production but has not made it to port yet. I was expecting production complete tomorrow so it looks like the car is back on the original timeline. Here's to hoping for a fast trip to port and onto a ship!

Finally! My car is on the boat. The Talisman is on her way! I might have my car by the end of the month - nearly 17 weeks from placing my order.

I'm now at port awaiting a vessel. There are 3 ships leaving Bremerhaven next week headed to NY so fingers crossed that I get on one of them.
