You're lucky if the residual is so low; over here it's only 50% after 36 months making the IS350 F much more expensive then a 328i.
IS350 faster than the 328/428? More like equal at best.

The 428 is typically showing high 13's and 0-60 at 5.1-5.5. You will find the Lexus is NOT faster.

To each their own, but it's going to be hard to get most people on here to recommend a brand other than BMW. Might get more encouragement from a Lexus forum (if there are such things). Think about this, too - that Lexus is offering "deals" on the F-Sport is probably an indicator that they're not selling well or they're selling/leasing on a very low margin just to boost sales figures. If money's the big factor, then Kia or Hyundai would probably be an even better deal. Moral of the story is that you don't get what you don't pay for.
My wife loves the lexus.
I love the BMW.

And I suspect most IS drivers are female. Just my $.02 observation....
...and you'd be right.

Happy Wife, happy life!. If it makes you feel any better, most(80%ish) 3rs around here are driven by women. 4s seem to be driven by men. All car companies are battling for business. BMW heavily discounts at year end just like everyone else. Tough call as they are both nice cars.

There are 25 million IS' on the road in Orange County (numbers are approximate). 99.9% of them are female, so your observation is fact (at least in OC).

Same here except: woman are driving 328's and men are driving 335's.

Yes, seems like 90% men (outside of a coworker of mine), are men driving 335i's.

You aren't going to find the answer on the internet on this one... since it is all about what YOU want.

If you get IS350 and regret not getting the 4 series, that's not a good outcome. Or, if you could save money and be equally happy with IS350 that is a great outcome too.

Have you checked the 3er residuals? Might be a good way to save money.

I believe the residual is 63% for a 36 month lease with 10k miles.

Does the Lexus brand have any image in the USA and Canada? Here in the UK the image is zero, or, if there is one, it's a car for old people. Wouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as BMW, Audi and Merc.....

It isn't held in the same esteem as bmw, mb, or even audi, I think. But we like to pretend here on the forum that none of us are badge-whores.

In the US it has decent street cred. Its 25% less a month lol so about that. Motortrend just put it up against the 3 series and ATS and picked the Lexus for what its worth

It doesn't change the fact that the front and the rear of the IS is U-G-L-Y.

If the overall money savings are substantial (at 72% RV plus lower MSRP to begin with...they would be) then I'd say go for it, unless money isn't really a big deal to you as far as the max lease payment you're willing to stomach.

Lexus is really going out of it's way to change it's brand perception. Akio Toyoda really wants Lexus cars to actually be fun to drive so it's got that going for it. I personally think Lexus's new styling direction won't age very well. I loved the new look when I first saw it, fast forward 9 months and the car already looks like it's been on the market for years. But that's all subjective.

J-Man is right. It is ugly. Butt ugly. But on the front. What the hell was Toyota thinking? It looks like someone said, "Well what happens if I just let the front grill drop all the way to the ground?"

It looks like the car got beat with the ugly stick, real good too

I've test driven a regular IS350, IS350 F Sport, and F30 335i M-Sport with DHP. All were RWD and I have to say even a regular IS350 has better steering feel than F30 with DHP. But I don't like how you can't get an IS350 F Sport with any of the luxury or tech packages. It's like Lexus wants to limit you to either a bare bones F Sport or loaded regular IS350.

Well stated. I get so caught up in the front and rear that I forget about the rest of the body sometimes.

Steering is entirely subjective...I thought the f30 steering is super light at first, and the E9x was perfect...now if I drive an E9x I laugh, feels like no power steering.
