It's ridiculous how a fully loaded 335i is about the same as a 1M

with a fully loaded 335i being almost $70k, while a fully loaded 2011 1M was only $72K (Canadian), I find it hard to justify to get a 335i now. But the 1M / M2 will not be out until 2015 accdg to rumors.

*sigh*

This is why I never understood the point of fully loading a car. For some people it is utterly important to say "my car is fully loaded"... that's great bud.. I bet you bank account isn't.

Options are there so you can pick and choose what you like, I can't imagine needing it all.

For 70K I would tap into a slightly used car market and pick a nice 4DR E90 328i + E46 M3 Comp Package and have cars for all occasions for less than that amount.

The base price for both F30 28 and 35 are pretty reasonable.

all your threads are about pricing.

i'd suggest you think really hard about you being able to afford a 335i if youre so overly concerned with price.

Or you could put it this way... The 1M is as much as a fairly loaded 335i ....

Before putting down my order for the F30, i had that exact same internal fight...

my heart and the kid in me is saying 1M
and/but unfortunately
the coward within myself took over and went for the F30 electric steering heavy 335i,

It's sad that i have choosen a common popular car over a legend...

and yet again here you are in my thread(you seem to be attracted to threads about prices. Having a hard time affording one?)

This is not not about me not being able to afford a 335i but rather looking at which is the better bang for the buck (in this case the 1M). Kids

Can you explain to me why the 1M, in your eyes, is better bang for the buck?

Sure, it is an M, but other than that I don't see much else that makes it better. As a matter of fact, I only see downsides (for my own personal situation, that is), the biggest being the lack of space compared to that in the 3 series.

lol

Either way, I think a statement like the one he made is probably more of a personal preference, not based on any facts =)

I would have bought a 1M if I could have gotten one for MSRP.

That wasn't happening.

its hard me to see how you can compare a 335i to a 1M... they are 2 totally different class of cars and serve totally different purposes. i mean, if you need a 4 seater... its a no brainer.

plus a fully loaded 335i i can get for maybe 60 MSRP and i saw a fully loaded 1M for 72K MSRP... how can you even compare?

It's the better bang for the buck (personal preference I guess). No matter what you say or what I say, it will boil down to personal preference I guess. You need space, I need performance.

A fully loaded 335i is about $70K in Canada. And when the 1M was released, it was $72K....

Hey people compare the 1 series and the 3 series all the time.

His parents are buying the car for him and are apparently willing to spend 90K so....

That said...price is my primary issue with BMW as well and I can afford one just fine....but it doesn't mean I should be OK with getting gouged.

And keep in mind that for us in Canada, who know very well what people pay for identical cars just a couple hours away and having no access to those prices, the frustration with cost is exacerbated.

Especially for people who are going to be spending their own money.

The 1M was $56,000 or $56,300 base in Canada...a few thousand more than a 2012 335i.

I considered the 1M because the price is so close to the 3, but in the end they are very different cars for very different purposes. I just couldn't make a 1M work for what I need. Plus its got that janky cup holder that I really can't stand. The 3 has real cup holders.

lol well, it's true though, it is all basically just personal preference. I rather have a bit more space than performance since I cannot use that performance here legally anyways =)

I'm 6 feet and I hate cramping into a 1 series and I drive my family around abit.. so ya F30 and F10 it is for me.. depends on your situation too really.. I don't need the xtra power in the M series no matter how much i love the engine I can't really "use" the power as I live in the CBD anyways
