M Performance front splitter clearance

To all you guys that have installed the front splitter, how does the ground clearance compare to msport bumper stock? With the condition of NYC roads, I'm a little concerned.

Thanks

I have M Adaptive suspension and the M Performance front splitter. It is lower and a do need to be careful going in and out of driveways - general driving and judder bars are ok though.

It actually descends quite a bit lower that the front of the lip you see -- this is the bit that scrapes unfortunately.

It makes the front really low even without lowering suspension. I have like less than an inch of clearance going into my driveway.

Just a few MM pulling out of my driveway this weekend too. But my E90 LCI drags the little felt pieces when backing straight into my driveway.
I usually take it at a good angle to avoid that.

Apparently one needs M-Sport to purchase this special body kit? However design-wise I hardy see a difference? Is there a side-by-side comparison somewhere?

Yes, you need M-sport to have the splitter.

Got it installed today guys. You were right, it is much lower than I thought. Will have to be really careful.
I love the way it looks though.

Hey guys, sorry to bump a pretty old thread, but didn't want to start a new one on a topic that's been beaten to death.

After researching a bit, I'm having a hard time deciphering what the exact measurements are from the ground with the spilitter added. I have a 2017 340 xDrive MSport on the way and would love to add a splitter; however, I have a horrendous driveway hump and I don't want to pay $600+ for this frigin part only to have it destroyed. I have no plans to lower the suspension at all, just add the splitter.

My current car, an STI, has roughly 7.5" of clearance from it's lowest point. If I cut the wheel correctly I don't bottom out at all. It's also an AWD car that's never been lowered.

Can anyone provide a good estimate of the ground to splitter length for 340s that have NOT been lowered? Thanks!

Go aftermarket and don't paint the underside.

I bought an aftermarket front splitter, left unpainted, installed on my 2014 F31, stock suspension, and still scrap!

Same here, I bought an M Performance CF Replica and the underside is not carbon.

I have the CF lip with polyurethane underside and I only need to be careful going in and out of driveways. I have the m adaptive suspension so it might be a little bit higher.

Thanks guys, I'm assuming with the splitter added at worst the clearance would be around 2" lower than my current car, which is getting into that grey area. I do have the Track Pack coming on my new 340 w/ Adaptive Suspension so maybe that will help make a difference. I'm getting Black Sapphire Metallic so I was going to leave it with the matte finish...may consider going aftermarket I just always worry about fitment issues

There's a cf splitter with pp underside? Where did you get it from?

I'm looking into getting cf splitter but I know it'll get scrapped. It's also going to cost roughly around $500 I assume.

Any cheaper CF splitter options?

Added the M Performance splitter to my 2017 440ix GC (came with M Sports Package) a month go and there is more than ample space. I was amazed how much space there was and very relieved. My 1997 M3 OOTB had much less than this.

^^Looks fantastic on the 440 GC! Quite a relief too as I plan to get the M Perf splitter on my 340 once it's delivered. Still going to have to take it easy going out of my driveway, but there appears to be more clearance than I expected judging from your photo. I assume your on stock suspension (not lowered)--I'm planning to leave mine stock as well.

Beautiful splitter and write up, I'm on the fence about ordering one for my 340i my concern is that it will hang to low and get scratched on drive ways, curbs or get damaged if I'm driving in snow? Need some help

I own ZHP #076 and as this picture shows I have right at 4 inches clearance, and yes it does scrape on even the slightest of approaches, and yes the sound of carbon fiber on pavement is far worse than fingernails on a chalkboard.[IMG][/IMG]
