328i Steering wheel fitting PLEASE HELP.
I've purchased the M Sport Alcantara flat bottomed Steering Wheel for my 2012 328i Sport Line 8 speed steptronic with paddle shifters I've been able to find a few posts on removing and fitting similar steering wheels to manual 328i's but nothing that deals with the steptronic and paddles. Can somebody please help me and advise if there is any difference or pitfalls in fitting / removing and re-fitting a steering wheel with steptronic. A quote from BMW at Parramatta (Sydney) is $231 per hour and may take 2 to 3 hours! They gotta be kidding.
Any help or advise will be appreciated |

Seriously, all up it took me 15 minutes! It is no different to the manual wheel other than you need a torx bit to undo the bolts the actually hold the paddles on. Just make sure you remember (take photo) of where the wires for the paddles go as you need to put them in exactly how they come out or it wont go back on properly. The hardest part was undoing the little white plastic conenctors. Don't forget to disconnect the battery and don't reconnect and start the car without the airbag fitted or you will get an error code. Yell out if you need anything else. H |

Long weekend was last weekend mate.
No, you don't need to do anything other than plug it all in again. Relax, it really isn't difficult but let me know if you need any guidance over the weekend as I will be home most of it. |

I ended up getting the F20 M wheel mate, straight swap other than painting the airbag.

LOL Ah... yes so it was. I was confused as I have this Monday off as well and Bathurst is on this Sunday - used to be run on long weekend. Thanks for the offer of assistance - hope I don't need any.
