I suppose the way I see it, the 6 series holds a certain prestige as it's near the top of BMW hierarchy. When I see 650 M sport, I think "man that's a nice car." On the other hand. When I think of a 4 series GC, it just doesn't have that same effect. |

I dont own a 4 but my 3 is made like shit(compared to all the other bimmers Ive had in recent years)...all the 4s Ive been in rattle and creak in the same spots when you apply pressure, and seem to be made with the same quality standards(sub par to 5er and above) If you dont know that yet IDK where you get the impression you're so knowledgable on 3/4? |

With BMW I no longer hope for the best but always expect the worst. Since the e9x generation ended, I have been impressed all but only 3 times by their work. the Z4, 6 Series, and now the 2 Series. Other than that, its hard to like any of their other line ups. The 5 and the 7 are great looking cars too but nothing to say WOW about. The 3 and the 4 are so-so but have potential to look good with mods.

This car is built on the F3x platform and will use two of BMW's three existing gasoline engines (the N26 and the N55). As you can tell from the spy shots, there are minimal design changes in the exterior and none in the interior. BMW is simply amortizing the cost of R&D work it did on existing platforms, engines, and designs across this model. As far as BMW's bean counters are concerned, making this car saves them money.

Absolutely. Not sure what massive costs he was referring to either. This will be the easiest and quickest money BMW ever makes. Existing platform, engine, transmission, suspension, interior and pretty much everything else ---> call it something fancy like 'Gran Coupe' and mark the price way up. Easy money for BMW, and plenty of fools like myself to pay for it. |

Official reveal is March at the Geneva auto show (whatever that is called). "Accidental" reveal can be any day now. I'm speculating here, but I think we will see something "un-officially leak" in the next couple of weeks.
