Spare Tire/Wheel
Is there an aftermarket spare tire/wheel that will fit the F30? I really am not keen on RF's and having to drive on a damaged tire. I would rather pop a spare on the car. And it looks like I could buy a spare kit with the money I would save by buying non-RF's. Thanks.

Are you talking full sized spare or space-saver? Here's a Genuine BMW space saver. The notes say it's not for retail customers so I don't know how easy it is to get a hold of. You can buy (or at least order) a full sized aftermarket spare at probably any tire/wheel shop.

There are many tires that will fit the F30. There's nothing unusual about the size of the tires/wheels. Just check out your favorite tire retailer and they'll surely have something that'll fit.

Are you talking about just having a spare wheel/tire at home to put on your car if needed, or a spare that actually fits in/under the car to be accessed while on the go? Other than throwing one in the trunk, I don't know where else you'd put it. Kinda scary proposition for road trips if you replace the RFT's and get a flat in BFE.

I'm thinking of a space saving spare to put in the trunk. There is one that works on the E90. I'm looking for something similar for the F30. Thanks.

the E90 one fits the 328i. the 335i needs a spacer, i picked up a 15mm spacer and longer bolts for about 30. you could probably use a 10mm spacer, but its hard to find good hubcentric ones at that size

Run flats and a spare tire ... kind of like a belt with suspenders.

Not exactly. I sometimes take long intercity drives. I could be a long, long way from a BMW dealer or good tire store. I would rather not drive a long distance on an injured runflat and ruin the tire. Runflats are expensive to repair and often need to be replaced in pairs. So I would rather slap on a minispare to limp along to a place where I can the runflat plugged/repaired.

I have the same concern on my last thread, one of the member here stated that you can go quite far with the flat tire or you can carry a repair kit with you in the trunk
