Citation for no front license plate
Background Info:
I'm 16, I was at my friend's house cleaning her S550. She needed to go somewhere real quick to buy decorations so I told her to take my car. She comes back to tell me that she got pulled over for not having a front plate. To my understanding, cops usually issue warnings, but I guess it was the end of the month and they needed to push tickets. Another thing that may have affected his judgement was that my radar detector was GOING OFF as he might have left his radar on when he pulled her over and she didn't know how to turn it off. Anyways, is there any way to dismiss the citation if I were to put the license plate on and get it confirmed by someone that can sign corrections? Or would this affect my insurance? She doesn't have insurance yet so would she be in legal trouble for operating the vehicle? I've seen people mount their plates behind their windshield, would I still get pulled over for that? Location of Citation: Meadows Place Thank you for reading this. |

Usually they dont pull you over for just that. Usually they catch you speeding or on a moving violation and in giving you a "break" give you the lessor infraction of say a covered license plate or no front license plate.. so not sure if it the same in Texas if it is then yer friend is not telling the truth.
Lawyers have told me its pretty tough to fight but this is not Texas.. if you have the time and effort give it a shot. |

Background info: I'm 32 and do not have a friend with a S550.
Usually police don't pull over for JUST no front plate unless they are really bored or intrigued by something. I received my first no-plate ticket last year after running no front plate in Texas for 15 years. Put the plate on, take a picture, submit it to the court (remove plate again ), and you're good to go.

No advise for you because I'm not sure what your state laws are like. But what I will say is avoid saying your age on these forums; someone's going to comment about your age. I speak from past experience

I wish I was 16. I was driving a 1976 Dodge Aspen when I was 16. Extra points if anyone remembers the legendary 76 Dodge Aspen!

Your 16 and drive an F30 328? Must be nice. And friends with S550's. Just tell Dad to pay it off and call it a day.

I win the extra points! The Aspen was a step up from my '75 Duster. It shifted ok as long as I kept the hose clamp on the linkage nice and tight!

Take documentation to court that you didn't know it was missing/stolen. No legal trouble for her w/o insurance. Yours should cover her. As for points on license....doubt it....but then again, everything is bigger in Texas. |

Clearly you have zero concept of legal definition of Fraud - as witnessed by your past posts on the subject...and your post above. It's lying under oath and penalty of law, which could be a misdemeanor or felony in Texas, which clearly you have no problem with. But it certainly is not fraud. |

For reference, here is the legal definition of fraud:
"Fraud. A false representation of a matter of fact—whether by words or by conduct, by false or misleading allegations, or by concealment of what should have been" ... |

My dad used to have a Plymouth volare. I think they were sister cars right? Light blue. I remember when it used to leak all of the condensation from the air conditioner into the car. Aside from that the car was solid as a rock

Depending on financial value, a fraud can be a misdemeanor or a felony. However, not all Felonies or Misdemeanors are Fraud. Furthermore, if anyone here wants to state they never stated " I thought the light was yellow officer....I thought the speed limit was 45 officer....I did come to a complete stop..,etc" well, we'll know who the liars are. When you drive a BMW and try to avoid paying a $100+ ticket....that`s the time you have to get back to `02 Honda Civic. Doesn`t matter you`re 16 or 61.
Oh....and say Hi to your friend with S550. |
