F30 seden rear suspension

Hi all,

I'm planning to replace the stock suspension to damper adjustable coilover (adjustable knob on the top), may i know if it is possible to adjust the rear damper setting without removing the coilover every-time, since the knob is located on the top of the coilover, thank you

There is no access to the top of the rear shock through the trunk with the F30. It sucks. You have to lift it, pull the wheel, and unbolt the shock mount in the fender well (3 small etorx bolts .. I dunno the size #). You will probably be able to compress the shock enough to get the mount down, pry up the little plastic thing, and make your adjustment with it still bolted into the lower arm. But you may find it easier to remove the lower shock bolt and drop it all the way down.

I only had to do this 3 times until I got it right...

Easier option is to find coilovers with adjustment on the bottom of the shock. Then you might be able to get away without even removing the wheel if you can get under the car.

I just installed CATuned coilovers on my 2013 335xi, the dampening adjustment for the front is through the top threaded rod, the adjustment for the back is at the bottom of the strut so both are really easy to get at.
