I have an 18 430 convertible. It was an executive car. It came with black kidney grills. It looks good.

When I was in US Army basic 1964 our barracks faced McGuire AFB main runway. Used to see the F-106 Delta Dart variant 539th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron going out on after burner to hunt BEAR's.. When they came back the landing AOA was unreal.
The first book about military aircraft I had as a kid was one about the F-102 and F-106. It spawned a lifelong interest in military aviation, and if my eyesight hadn’t started to deteriorate in my freshman year of college, it was my intent to pursue a path toward flying fighters. Alas, it was not to be, but I still love fast jets.

Would've gone for a '16 or '17 M4, or a 650i coupe if you want a car with an actual quality interior.
Was "0 miles off the lot" really so important to you?(I.e. paying a full sticker price for a car with less intrinsic value than what I previously mentioned)
I did the same thing when I picked up my 2018 440i (also in MGM). I have a very helpful dealer who tried to find the car I wanted, but it was a "unicorn" that didn't exist elsewhere, so I ordered it from the factory.

With my last three cars, I've always said, "I really wish I had..." so the current one is loaded. (I wanted active cruise control, so I couldn't get the track handling package.) I lease cars because I'm self employed and it makes more financial sense... but I still didn't want to spend the next three years driving anything other than the car I wanted.

Several years ago, the dealer called and asked if I'd like to test drive the first M4 that arrived on their lot. (The sales manager didn't blink when I hit 130 on the mountain road on their preferred test drive route.) I ultimately decided that didn't want an M car because the 440i is more livable as a daily driver... and I would have felt like a poser if I wasn't doing trackdays at least every month or so. (Thunderhill, the SCCA's Northern California track, is only 45 minutes away, so there wouldn't be an excuse.) I've logged tens of thousands of miles on motorcycles on road courses throughout the Western USA, and I always wonder why people invest in a full race replica bike when they never get enough lean angle to scrub off the "chicken strips."

One of my favorite mods on my MGM 440i is the smoked reflectors on the front corners. This crappy cell phone photo, with bad color, doesn't do them justice. They look great IRL.

I had done all my configuration expecting to order a 2018, but when I got to the dealership in late-February, I was surprised to find that they had just switched to 2019 allocation.

The wheels are one of my favorite aspects of the car, they just pull the whole look together.

Have a pair I have not gotten around to installing yet. Any issues putting them in?

No, I did mine when the car and adhesive were still fresh. I little fiddling to start breaking them free, but a piece of cake once you got it started.

Use a heat gun to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to get it too hot. Don't use any tools. If you get the adhesive warm enough, you can push the reflector out the back of the bumper shell with your thumbs.

I’m definitely going to do this mod, just haven’t decided on smoked or paint-matched.

How much were your smoked ones and where did you buy them?

I bought them on eBay for about $20. I looked in my purchase history to find the link, but I suspect most of them are about the same. I think I just chose the cheapest one.

I had read that some of the reflectors sold on fleabay are stamped out of flat material, so they don't fit the curves of the car, but these fit like a glove.

That's a lovely car. I see you didn't go all out on the wheel size and kept things reasonable. I'm beginning to really hate the harsh ride offered by 19+ inch wheels. One should not need an air suspension to have a smooth ride.

I cannot complain from 19"... Would not go lower for summer tyres on an F3x.
Noticably noisier than my winter 18" but that has nothing to do with the hight.

Thanks. I love the look of these wheels with the Mineral Grey paint. Not going to lie, I wouldn't have complained if they'd been 19", but I like the fact that this wheel/tire combo is more performance oriented, since it cuts down on unsprung weight.

I agree. Look great and perform great and more practical and come with killer tires. Win, win, win, win. Nice choice.
