Hey everyone.

I just got a 2012 328i Sedan (F30) (Luxury/Tech packages) after Christmas and I am loving the car. Love its HUD.

But I'm a little perplexed as to get all the technology working.

I figured out I had to go to the BMW Connected Drive site (for me was https://connecteddrive.bmwusa.com/cd...n?locale=en_US) and associate my car, but after that, all that shows up is the SOS/Assist.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get everything else active and if there's a trial period or what the fees are.

I use an iPhone BTW and was able to get the BMW Remote app working, though there's a huge latency between sending a command (horn, lights, etc.) and it actually happening in the car.

Any help, primers, etc. would be appreciated.

Welcome to the club. I have a 2012 335i F30. Fun cars for sure. Without knowing what options you have, it is hard to give much help on the tech.

Do you have navigation? Do you have enhanced Blue Tooth? Sat radio?

Assuming you have Sat radio, I believe there is a trial period for that if you set it up with the provider. If you don't have enhanced Blue Tooth, there may be ways of coding that to get it without paying for it.

There are also a host of other things the car can do through coding that are not stock.

Thanks for the welcome! It has navigation. It has bluetooth, but don't know about the enhanced part. I've only used it to place phone calls. Assuming the enhanced part comes with streaming audio?

I do have Sat radio, but already had a Sirius/XM subscription that I transferred over.

I've had it just over a month now, and haven't fully gone through everything yet.

As a pre-owned vehicle (that I didn't buy through a BMW dealership), how do I determine what other options I have?

I bought a used 2012 335i F30. I don't have rear seat heaters... sounds like you do. That is a nice add. Looks like you have the drivers side glove compartment too? Or as I call it my gun compartment. LOL... A walther PPK fits perfectly in there.

Yeah it was a nice find. I'm really happy with it. If I have the driver's side glove compartment, I've yet to use it. Where is it located?

Thought that is the storage compartment package. On mine, it is a little door right above your left knee. If you don't have it, you may have a bank of buttons where it should be.

Isn't Connected Drive only good for 3 years?
