Back Up Camera Retrofit
Anyone retrofit the back up camera for their vehicle. BimmerTech offers one. Was curious if anyone has this installed. Def looking to get it done.

I believe you'll be OK for retrofit. Contact Patryk at Bimmertech. If there's an issue its not so much the PDC itself, but the way BMW programmed their CIC. Part of the retrofit install is coding the CIC to see the rear camera module.

Officially BMW says you need to have at least the rear PDC to retrofit the rear view camera.
We can do the PDC and the rear view camera, but I do not remember if we have ever tried to retrofit the rear view camera in an F30 without the PDC... Someone wants to try? |

Are we talking 6.5" screen here or 8.8" pro nav?
I have driven both with factory rear cam and can say that on the 6.5" screen the pic is terrible, not worth having as a reverse cam. |

Just curious, I have rearview cam and PDC, but I was wondering if I could retrofit front PDC (would be helpful in tight parking where I park at work).
Thanks |

HI i am new first time BMW owner- just bought 2012 328i Sedan yesterday- base model . I kind of regret not getting the rear view camera. This may be a dumb question but is it possible to install and back up camera and have it take advantage of the factory installed screen?
I dont have navigation or any extra features- just base model. Thanks! |

Seems like alekshop had gotten decent reviews in other iterations of this cam. His shop is in Fremont, up in San Francisco area. Ill look into it and report back. He also has an integral radar detector that looks pretty cool.
