Anyone else waiting for a boat?

My car has been done for 9 days now and is still at port waiting for a boat.

Mine waited just recently for 14 days before a vessel picked it up. Supposed to land in the states in 4 more days. Definitely a hard wait!

Have you got your VIN? You can check the W&W tracking page to see if it's already shipped (BMW USA phone info isn't always current...):

8. Track your car, if shipped by Wallenius Wilhelmsen, using the VIN #:

• You will then know the ships name.
• If "no records are available" is displayed, Wallenius Wilhelmsen does not yet have your car in their possession, your car is not being
transported by their fleet, or the tracking system is lagging behind actual status - which is quite common.

I'm also waiting and it's miserable. My car finished somewhere around the 29th (of August). I called the 800# today and they said it arrived at the port. Hopefully we will be on a boat soon. This whole process and lack of information is exhausting.

Yeah...2015. Was supposed to be 1st week of September production, but went into production early on August 7. Can't wait to get it to the dealer already. Getting MPPK, MPE, M Black kidney grilles, and iND painted front reflectors installed.

You can ask you dealer for the shipping line, of you have an estimated arrival date, and the track the ship live.

Yeah mine has been at the port of exit since around Aug 29. Not quite as long as yours, but I agree it's steal real annoying just waiting around for some progress. Maybe we will be on the same boat...and more importantly, hopefully it will be very soon.

I love the idea of custom ordering my vehicle, but all the waiting and lack of information is almost not worth it.

What ship is it coming on? Getting a ship date doesn't necessarily mean its on the ship already, just that one is coming to pick it up, should arrive at your destination at that date.

Find out the name of the ship that is coming for it and you can track it free on AIS Marine.

When I called bmwusa and talked to a rep, they didn't have any additional information in regards to a boat or anything, just that it was waiting.

Yeah I really understand your frustration. Mine took about Two (2) Weeks at the port waiting for Container, and a Ship Date.

Our cars here, are shipped Two per Container, and they were waiting on another car to pair with it.

I Hope you will get your ship date soon, but getting closer and closer to Christmas Time, the waits are going to be longer.

If you possibly speak with a Manager (at your dealer), they are in direct contact with Germany, and he could email his contact and get some more specific info for you.

Yeah it usually takes around Two (2) Weeks, to get a ship date.

My vehicle is "complete and waiting to be released to a carrier." Does this mean I'm 1) at the port waiting for a boat or 2) still at the plant waiting to be taken to the port?

If it just went to that status, most likely it's number 2.
